Hope you enjoy! ^_^
"Justine, do you even care that you are on the brink of being suspended?!" the knick knacks on his desk shook violently as he slammed his fist down.
The teenager picked a piece of lettuce out of her short brown hair boredly and thought it over. "Mmm... not really."
The principal turned to look out his office window, thinking of an appropriate punishment for starting one of the worst (or best, in the kid's opinion) food fights in the history of East Gregor High.
"I don't see the big deal, Mr. K." Justine took a Kleenex out of the blue box on the principals oak desk and wiped some chocolate pudding off her black shirt. she could hear the old man take a deep breath.
"Justine Kaye, you're expelled."
Justine's green eyes widened in horror behind her black rimmed glasses. "Expelled? Y-y-you can't do that!"
"Oh, yes. yes i can. And it's about time that i did it to! This isn't the first time that you've disrupted a student activity." Mr. Kendall hid a smirk. He had never really liked Justine and the power she held over the student body. He had just been waiting for an opportunity such as this one to finally be rid of her and her attitude for good.
"I'll make the call to your parents while you report to the cafeteria with the rest of your friends to clean up the mess." he spoke the words with disgust.
justine cringed slightly as if the words were as deadly as poison, but she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of her being displeased so she replied with a simple "gladly", with sarcasm dripping from every syllable.
"i suggest you get going, before i make you tell your parents of your misfortune." Mr. K smiled triumphantly as Justine gave him a final glare before stomping out of the room, gracefully slamming the door behind her.
Justine would have preferred to tell her parents herself, because as soon as Mr. K was in contact with her parents she was doomed. she knew Mr. K was out to get her and would come up any story in the book from "she's been acting like this lately, i just couldn't handle it anymore" to "the teachers and i all took a vote on her punishment and we all came up with the same conclusion.." just to get her in more trouble then she probably already was. oh yeah, she knows this school, it's teachers and it's students inside and out.
she kicked an open locker shut in frustration. 'see? i help these stupid people every friggin day. that locker could have been sitting open all day and someone could have ran up and stolen anything that they wanted. yeah, you're bloody welcome.' the only problem with that theory was that all the people that would have taken something were all in the cafeteria cleaning up the 'injustice', as Mr. K calls it, that had been committed there.
'jeez, he makes it sound like we had a shoot off.' justine walked by her 6th hour, peeking in the window and giving all the kids a victorious wink. she smirked as all the kids gave her the victory sign. if it weren't for her, school would be just another boring chore in their pathetic lives. she was the spice in their life, they wouldn't survive without her here. they couldn't survive without her. maybe they could get together an angry mob and burn Mr. K at the stake. eh, it would have to do for now.
Justine hadn't gotten a good look at the cafeteria before Mr. K had pulled her out of the battle zone and into his office. no questions asked. but standing here now, justine was proud of her fellow classmate's work. milk, pudding, and god knows what else was dripping from the once red and white walls. unidentifiable food was scattered over all the tables, and every step Justine took was accompanied by a soft crunch of the food below her feet.
"Well well! If it isn't the woman of the hour, the messy magician herself!"
Justine bowed dramatically. "Thank you! thank you! Please hold the applause!"
"Nice work Justine; so how hard was he?" Damon put her in a headlock.
Justine elbowed Damon in the stomach, sending his head downward, just asking for a knee in his face. "Well... let's just say Mr. K is the spawn of the devil."
"Tell us something we don't hear everyday." a girl with strawberry blond hair said nonchalantly.
"Yeah c'mon what's the damage?" another boy, James, asked.
"He expelled me." Justine sat up on one of the food covered tables. Her green cargo's would soon be covered in food anyway so why take the time to clean the table just to sit on it.
"Harsh"
"Tell me about it... my parents are gonna blow when they hear." Justine growled in frustration.
"So why don't you just bounce?" My dark haired friend, Lesley, asked. I looked over at her. She was sitting backwards in one of the chairs, caring as much about the food as I did. "I mean, if he's already expelled you, what's the point?"
"Nah, I would never ditch my buds. Even if they would ditch me in a second if they were in the same position."Justine looked pointedly at Damon and James.
"You know it sista!" Ian slapped her on the back, James nodded in agreement.
"You wish she was your sister!" Damon sat next to Justine on the table. "To bad she loves me better, huh?"
In a way it was true. Justine and Damon had been buds since 2nd grade when she had kicked his ass for eating her PB&J. After being in detention for an hour together, they realized they had a lot of things in common: they both hated teachers, they had both puked at least once from eating the cafeteria food, and they both came from bad families. So, as expected, they got real close. They always had each other's back, no matter how much they fought. But, hey, that's what family does, and thats exactly what they were to each other: family.
Justine stuck her tongue out at them. "Bite me."
"Gladly." Lesley replied playfully. Ian left Justine's side and sat beside Lesley, hooking his arm around her waist and kissed her neck. Justine could see Amy grimace out of the corner of her eye. Amy wasn't like them. She was more... reserved then the rest. She didn't know how to kick back and have some good Ole' trouble makin fun.
Well Justine couldn't blame her. She did come from a different background than the rest of her friends. When Amy was transferred to East Gregor High she was like any other rich, snotty "daddy's girl" out there, maybe even worse. She came to EGH, expecting to be the one to rule the school. Psch, let's just say that Justine, Damon, and Lesley had put her in her place. THEY ran this school, and they weren't gonna let some brat come in and threaten their power. Soon after the "incident" as most would call it, Amy started hanging out with their group more and more and soon became part of it, even if she was some hopeless prep.
"I've got an appointment, so as sorry as I am, I must say good bye to you, and this awful mess." James flashed a pearl white smile and headed for the doors.
"Oh, no you don't!" Lesley grabbed him by the hood of his black jacket. "You're not going anywhere, and especially NOT to go see one of your pitiful girlfriends."
James looked to the ground, afraid to meet Lesley death glare. That's another thing James was known for: his numerous girlfriends. Now, don't take it that way. He dated them separately, he just went through them like Ian went through gum. Very fast.
"Aw c'mon. I didn't even make this mess! Why aren't any of the other kids in here helping?" James whined.
They all shared a laugh as James went into "baby mode". James was the youngest of the group coming in at 16. He was a junior, like the rest of them, but was born in late August. James had always been a lady-killer. With his dreamy blue-gray eyes, ash blond hair and perfectly tanned skin, he resembled a movie star. All the girls were after him, including Justine at one point. Justine and him went out in Junior High, but didn't work out and they ended their relationship on a bad note, until fate brought them together as friends their Freshman year in High School.
"Because Mr. K loves all the other kids in this school." Lesley explained pushing him into a plastic cafeteria chair. James sat there and mumbled to himself while Lesley lectured him.
"I'm wit James. Let's bounce." Ian stood up and James stuck his tongue out at Lesley. "It's not like we can get in more trouble then we are already in. Especially you, Justine."
"I guess your right. Let's go." Damon followed Ian out the door into the bright sunny day.
Lesley slowly followed the boys' suit and walked to the doors with her two best buds, "Ian always lets James get his way."
Amy shrugged, "Oh well, if it means we don't have to clean up this mess then I'm okay with it."
"Ditto." Justine winced as she waited for her eyes to adjust to the Sun's bright light. She really did hate daytime, night suits her better.
I hope you like it!
This was basically just like the prologue so not much happened, I was just trying to introduce the characters ^_^
