A dream

Once I was a vivid dream,

A sparkle in your eye,

In that moment you say,

Nothing, I begin to die.

Now like any vivid dream,

I'm fading in the light,

Fading from your feelings,

Distant voices of the night,

Not like any vivid dream now,

Just disassociated images,

Flitting through your mind,

In my place the day rages.

A dream you know was their,

But is better that I'm gone,

A dream you did not want,

A dream, one and only one.

Once I was a vivid dream,

One you would forget,

One word, a look a touch,

That it's not over yet.

Day would have me fade away

While you hold on tight,

But would not keep me close

As I melt away with the light.
