AUTHOR'S IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a FULL RECREATION of chapter 7. Sorry, but I personally felt that my story didn't need the 'certain intensity' I had given it…not for a long while anyway. Again readers I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will enjoy this chapter and future chapters that are soon to come.
And thank you Minoan Ferret! You have been a wonderful support in keeping my spirits up in writing this story and I thank you so very much!^o^
"Rose of Sharon"
'When One Journey Ends, Another Begins'
(Chapitre 7)
I dedicate this chapter to Minoan Ferret.
The Prince entered his room to escape from Master Britt's truthful words, the words of his father.
"God, why is this all happening?" Prince Orion asked as he rested his head against the bedroom door and sighed heavily, looking sadly at the high grand ceilings. "Am I not to have what I want?"
"Prince Orion?" Said a soft voice from his large bay window.
His head snapped down, startled for he thought he was alone. To his surprise he found Heaven sitting with her hands loosely about her knees in his bay window seal. Her legs were covered in a thin, white cotton blanket; so thin, the silhouette of her legs had shown through with the help of the Moons soft light that seemed to make her glow all the more.
Heaven's wide blue innocent eyes were locked upon him. "Uhh, am I in the wrong room? I'm so sorry!"
To Prince Orion's remembrance of the first day Heaven came to his world, he ordered his servant women, the ones in the colorful robes, to escort Heaven to his chambers. But he could not return that night to finish his 'marriage' with her because of his father's final fight with Legion.
"No, Heaven. Forgive me. This is not your fault." He apologized.
As the Moon smiled its crescent smile upon her and the stars twinkled and danced excitedly in the night sky, Prince Orion strolled toward her. Though not consciously doing it, his green eyes lined her features. How was it a person could live in a constant state of beauty? That, he did not know. But as he came before her, he could tell she was troubled by something.
"So, how are you holding up?" Heaven asked.
"Hmm? How am I holding up what?" He asked confused by her 'earthly' grammar.
"No, uhh, how are you doing?" She said correcting her *Ebonics.
"Ah! I am, 'holding up' just fine. Thank you." He said smiling weakly. "May I?" He gestured to sit beside her.
"OH! Yeah, sure!" She said, sliding her legs in a bit more.
"My father is in a far better place now…it pleases my soul that he is no longer in pain."
"You don't look very pleased, Prince Orion."
"…My father was so wise and such a great man of the people, Heaven. How could I possibly live up to what my father has accomplished and was? Even the Royal Counsel does not look up to me as an heir…" He muttered sadly.
"Royal Counsel?" Heaven questioned. Prince Orion shook his head and painted a fake smile for her not to worry about his problems. She had enough of her own.
"Enough about me." He said. "There seems to be something that is troubling you, is there not?"
"…I'm just a little nervous is all, 'bout the journey." She said as she looked out of the window to quiver at what seemed like an endless world.
"I'm usually such an adventurous person." She giggled nervously hugging herself to force her shivers to rest.
Prince Orion looked at her. In the legends of the Purifiers his father used to tell him, he had learned to greatly fear and respect them because they gave him hope. Their endless courage, power and selflessness were an example of what he strived to be. Like his father before him, he was also a perfect result of following that path. And now, as the very legacy sat before him, shivering, his eyes had become opened. Even the greatest of people aren't born to become great, they too must study hard and grow upon it.
Yes, Prince Orion himself had witnessed the strength behind her fist and the vast amounts of power she'd held within her. But no matter how powerful on the outside she may have seemed, the legacy she was, she could never be if she'd first hadn't agreed to aid them. Also, another fact was that physically and mentally she was still a human woman; A clean, sensitive, lovely and very fragile woman. That, no one could overlook.
"More and more, I am beginning to understand everything about being alone. It is hard but, 'we are never given more that we can bear'. My father told this to me often and I am still here, so it has to be true Heaven. I'm living on faith and pray that everything will be alright in the end. And the first thing I will do is to trust in my father's final words…"
"What final words?" Heaven asked knowing, but having to hear them again.
"We are never alone." Heaven's body tingled with reassurance.
"Heaven?"
"Yes?"
"Will you do me the honor of allowing me to be your first friend from this world?"
Heaven giggled. "Of course I will!" She leaned forward and gave him a big hug.
Orion blushed and squeezed her back gently. "I will take this as a 'yes'! See? Now neither of us are alone." He assured her looking into her spirited blue eyes.
Just then, a loud buzzing noise with a funky twinkling beat sounded. The noise startled them both and they broke from their hug.
"What is that strange sound?" Prince Orion asked as Heaven hurriedly followed the noise. It was coming from her backpack, sitting by the prince's bed.
"I have no idea." Heaven answered as she sat the heavy backpack on the bed and frantically searched for the noise through tons of gear. Orion observed over her should with full curiosity. At the very bottom, on the inside pocket she pulled out a small flower-wrapped box about as big as her hand. She had forgotten the gift Terrie had given to her before she and Master Britt went back to Sharon in her backyard.
"Oh, you have an admirer I see." Prince Orion said, slightly disappointed.
"No! It's my birthday gift from my family back home! I'd forgotten all about it!" She said excitedly as she ripped the package open. She pulled from the box a slick, lime green and yellow square device. It was built with a large screen and the buttons where few. The screen read, IN COMING CALL. And like all earthly devices, Heaven reluctantly pressed the green button.
'Hello? Heaven? Heaven, you there?' Said a familiar voice as the picture slowly came into view.
"Terrie?" Heaven's heart pounded with excitement.
'Oh good, it does work! You had me worried when you didn't call…' Terrie sighed in relief.
"I just opened the box. Terr, How did you…? "
'I told you. Linn, Gramps and I made it for your birthday. I just wasn't sure if it would work, you know, on a different planet and all!' She said tapping a messy spatula on her shoulder.
"Terr you're a genius! You've totally outdone yourself this time! I can even see what you're doing! What are you doing? Why are you such a mess?"
'I'm baking a cake for my Russcul! He's thirty-five years old today, can you believe it!" She exclaimed loudly mixing a strange colored batter that slipped out of the bowl with ever stir. She bent down to pet a strange looking and wrinkled Great-Dane that had dark beady eyes and drooled like an open faucet. "I'm making his favorite! Yes I am!" She said talking to the dog.
"Terrie, you know dogs don't live that long." Heaven said with a smirked then giggled. "And you know you can't cook either!"
'Hey! Can too!'
"Terrie, you can make a cell phone that has the reception to reach other planets, reverse the flow the of a planets core, make a bio-mechanical dog that never dies and even perform heart transplants! But I can guarantee that you can't bake worth your life!" Heaven giggled again.
'Hey! I resent that!'
"What, it was a complement!" Heaven giggled.
'Yeah, yeah, I guess your right! All Dogs go to Heaven, but not my Russcul, not yet!' She said in a high pitched voice then suddenly screamed in terror.
"What! You okay Terr? Did you burn yourself?" Heaven asked scared for her friend. Terrie's mind looked as if it was shot. She pointed her spatula toward Heaven.
'…That…!' She exclaimed.
"Huh? What? My nighty?" Heaven asked knowing Terrie was also a fashion guru and that what she wore was beautiful and unique. But Terrie shook her head violently and flicked the messy spatula over and over toward Heaven again.
'That! That!...Who IS THAT?' Terrie demanded to know.
"Oh yeah! Remember the Prince I told you about? This is Prince Orion, heir to the world pretty much." Heaven said.
"How do you do?" Prince Orion greeted. He smiled so sweetly, it completely melted Terrie's heart.
'…My GOD… you're gorgeous! Linn ain't got nothing on this guy Heaven!' Terrie shouted giving her the thumbs up.
"Terr! Quit it will ya!" Heaven blushed.
Terrie loudly continued. 'No way sista, you better get you some of that!...Hey, you crazy dog! Don't eat that, I haven't even cooked it yet!' Then Terrie ran off screen. Metallic crashes and dishes breaking were heard along with Terrie's struggling. "OH! Give it here Russcul! Down! Dammit!"
"My word! Heaven, is your friend alright?"
"A lot of times, I don't know."
Moments later there was silence and Terrie came back on screen covered in creamy and brown goo. Russcul was licking the chocolate and terracotta from her shoulder. Heaven burst into laughter.
'Sorry about that.' Terrie wiped the goo from her brown eyes and put it in her mouth nonchalantly. 'Mmm, good.' Heaven laughed again.
"Oh Terr, you are something else!" Heaven smiled.
'Trust me, I don't mean to be…but hey we'll talk later. And I'd better get goin' because Russcul and I have a big mess to clean up and I'm sure that prince of yours really wants to bang you!' Terrie laughed.
"Terrie!" Heaven blushed.
'And I want details, you hear!' And with that Heaven hung up on Terrie with her flesh as read as a cherry.
"What did she mean by my 'banging' you? I would never hit a woman." Prince Orion assured her completely overlooking the sexual humor in it.
"It's really nothing to worry about!" Heaven said nervously, hoping he wouldn't try figuring it out later. She changed the subject.
"Wow! This was some day huh?" She said.
"Indeed, but alas, it is getting late. You must rest if your plan is still to leave tomorrow, yes?"
"Yes." She nodded.
"Sleep here tonight then." He offered.
"No! I shouldn't! This is your room!"
"Dear Heaven. There are over three hundred rooms in this palace. I am most sure I can find one to rest the night. Sweetest dreams to you dear Heaven." He said as he looked into her soft blue eyes and pressed his lips to her hand.
"Good night dear friend and sweet dreams." He wished her as he walked to the door. He turned as if he wanted to say something more, but didn't. He smiled sweetly and shut the door.
Outside the door, Prince Orion sighed heavily. Though his father talked about a relationship with the Purifier being a lost cause, he still felt his love soaring higher than the stars he stared at that night.
A dark figure around the corner watched with piercing glowing eyes as the prince wandered away into the halls of the grand palace with a new hope radiating from him. Then as quickly as the figure came, it was gone, slithering back into the darkness of the opposite hall.
In a room, two naked women slept heavily under a silk gray cover, revealing smooth womanly body parts that glowed in the moons light. Staring out the window of the room at the starry night was High Priest Hinaldi Musicku sipping a glass of wine with his robe loosened at the belt. His eyes narrowed in thought.
"Hmmm. High King…" He muttered.
The next day came very quickly and with nervousness stirred in her, Heaven didn't get much sleep. Though on the other hand she was eager to start a new day, a new adventure and a new beginning in a brand new world.
In the kitchen, Heaven taught the cooks a new recipe called 'pancakes'. They said they had a similar recipe that the High King liked very much called Sweet Flat Bread and another called Sweet Squares.
After teaching the great chiefs of Rosal a thing or two about Earths cooking, she decided to take breakfast to Prince Orion and Master Britt and eat together with them before her big journey.
Finally reaching the office, the palace guards called the King's Den, she knocked on the door and it immediately opened.
Heaven walked inside, slowly. There were about ten people, including Prince Orion and Master Britt, frantically pushing things aside, looking through books and journals and large files. Papers, books and folders were piled two and three feet high on the desk and on the floor. Despite the mess, the room was large and beautiful; a place to conduct business as well as relax. The large oak wood desk was set in front of a massive bay window that overlooked the village, the forest behind it and the icy mountain peaks that seemed to poke at the clear blue sky. The bookshelves were built into the walls from floor to ceiling and there were even beautiful lamps built into the bookshelves.
A stained glass lamp had accidently been pushed over by a weak stake of books, but Heaven grabbed it just in time. Finally, Prince Orion noticed her and gave her a big smile.
"Good morning, Heaven! I pray you slept well?" He said walking over to her.
"Not really. I was really nervous about today. Here! I brought breakfast! A recipe from my world." She blushed.
"Oh, thank you! But Heaven, did you want to leave tomorrow instead?" He asked.
"No… I really shouldn't." She said, though in her mind she really was thinking it over.
Just then, a teenage boy at the very top step of a ladder like contraption, leaning against the bookshelves waved his hand in the air as he yelled, "I found it Prince Orion! I found it!"
"Excellent, Warren! Now please be careful coming down!" Just as he said this, the young teen slipped in his worn sandals against the thin bars of the ladder and fell.
"Warren!" The Prince cried.
The boy was but feet from crushing his frail body into the hard wood floors when he suddenly stopped. He had been caught by the collar of his shirt by a large green hand.
"M-Many thanks, Master Britt." Warren said in a shaky voice. Britt growled lowly.
"Prince Orion said to 'be careful', not to be 'clumsy'." Britt said as he put the embarrassed boy down.
"M-Many apologize, sir." Warren said in a very sorry tone.
"Easy Master Britt. It was an accident…Thank you Warren for your help. Here you are." He handed him a small pouch with money in it. "Tell your guardian to buy you some new shoes and clothes."
"Wow! Thank you!" Master Britt saw him out and the teen left very happy.
"Because of his frail body, you would not believe he is sixteen years of age." The Prince informed Heaven.
"What was he looking for anyway?" Heaven asked.
"A map." The Prince said. "My father, the High King, drew it as he went on his travels. He was quite the artist. So I am sure it will be of some help to you." He handed her the rolled up cloth and opened it.
"Oh Wow! He was good! I like all the little pictures. There are even rocks and trees and the seas too!" Heaven said.
"And this is us. The Country of Rosal and the forest beyond that, which surrounds us, is called Winreysa. And here, the southern desert of Mohaven and to the far west, the small islands of Kataal. I would say your best chance to finding the artifact would be there because it is a very old and historical place. But be careful, I hear the natives there are not very friendly." He warned.
"Oh…" Heaven said looking over the map. He could tell she was very over whelmed.
"I know there is a lot here, Heaven. And being a man, my common sense has been drowning my thoughts lately of sending a beautiful woman out alone in this particular world. I personally cannot allow that, 'tis why I've made special arrangements for your travels." He told her.
"You did?"
"Yeah, he did." Said the voice of a broad and fine young man that had entered the King's Den. All had become silent among his presence. His smug yet very capturing grin along with his long and well kept spice red hair weren't easy to forget. And when his golden rod eyes met with Heaven's she knew that her journey had just gotten a whole lot more challenging.
A few hours later, Heaven was all set to leave on her journey. It seemed as if the entire town and everyone in the palace came just to see her off.
Heaven shivered. "Wow, I'm excited and I'm scared all at the same time!" She said as she slipped on her very large backpack.
"Heaven, I cannot say enough how grateful my village and I are, that you chose to help us in this great way. You Heaven are certainly, one of a kind." He smiled at her as the breezes blew in reassurance. Heaven could tell by the civilian's faces and by their smiles that they had all felt the same way and this, made her smile and blush.
She sighed. "Well…I guess it's time. Take good care of yourself and keep that faith goin'. It looks really good on you!" She said and gave Prince Orion a big hug. He was a bit surprised by this but hugged her back tightly and lifted her off the ground. The crowd began to giggle and whistle at their gesture.
She shook Master Britt's huge green hand and began to make her way through the crowd.
"Heaven! Please take this. I had nearly forgotten to give this to you." Price Orion said running to her. He handed her a round, flat object.
"ooooo, it's really pretty!...What is it?" It was a rose made of precious stones; of ruby, jade and garnet, inlaid on pure gold. Engraved on its gold back were the king's name and a very detailed engraftment of the Palace of Rosal.
"This is the High King's Seal. You need but to show this to merchants, food marketers, inn keepers, clerks…anyone! And they will give you anything you need. But please, I beg you not to lose it. If you must rid yourself of it, then simply break it and I will have someone replace it. Consider it a gift for your birthday."
"Wow, thank you!" They hugged each other again.
Finally making her way past the large crowd of Rosalians that still roared cheers behind her, Heaven walked to the mouth of the lush forest to meet up with a familiar figure leaning against a tree with his arms folded coolly as he waited for her.
Eyeing her with his piercing gold eyes, Sajita silently lead them into the forest of Winreysa.
"Here we go…" She muttered as she followed the wolf man. The echo of the cheers along with the tears of joy followed the both of them, for the people now know that they had their God given weapon against Legion, the demon of their time.
…And so when the day is done, the Sun will set. When a man falls to his death, a life is born. To obtain peace, a sacrifice must be made. And when one journey ends, another is formed. This is the natural flow of things. Life and Death. Good and Evil. Heaven and Hell. It all became this way because we chose for it to be this way…since the beginning of worlds… (Madaius Soraxis pg xx)
