In this sinister world of your making, my love,
the harsh reality can be twisted and tainted to your liking.
Old wounds of the heart can heal in time,
but time is such a subjective term for eternal things as this;
a love tarnished by rape and discrepancy, and a hateful passion,
can drag on for an eternity if the right catalyst is in place.

Here in your dark realm of mind games and cruel intentions,
it becomes clearer as the realization approaches
with the light of a dawn that never quite breaks.
The shadow of your unweilding presence in my heart faces me,
and though I struggle to find the strength to turn away,
always as before, the battle is half-hearted and bitterly futile.

"Was it me you had hoped to catch in this web of deceit?"

The thorns of your gaze pierced my heart,
and for a brief moment, I almost felt secure in myself.
At times like this I find myself succumbing
to the sorrow of a dark world that never stops,
and I feel ashamed.

"This can't be you."

I watch my heart die in your hands;
this can't be the person I remember.
As I slowly wither away I wonder if this is the truth of your heart;
if this is to be the way our journey together is to end,
then did everything we've gone through mean nothing?
Lost and abandoned of a sense of direction,
wherever this path is leading us to,
then if it's not asking too much,
can this be the final step we take while,
as we distance ourselves still further,
the bitter memory still holds a dim glimmer of the joy we once felt?

Is this a spell you've placed me under,
where this love I have for you burns so painfully?
In this closed cage of a shattered heart in disrepair, I,...
The corrupted feeling of desire,
a blatantly hopeless reprieve from such uncaring emotions-
is this lingering affection all that remains between us now?
Look me in the eyes and if just once your heart falters,...
