Done to Taylor Swifts "Change"
And it's a sad picture, the final blow hits you
Somebody else gets what you wanted again and
You know it's all the same, another time and place
Repeating history and you're getting sick of it
But I believe in whatever you do
And I'll do anything to see it through
Once again, I was beaten. I knew it would happen, it always does. Anything I've ever wanted, I never got, someone always got to it before me. Sighing, I glare at those around me, it was just another time and place, yet another repeat of my history. I knew that he would see me through it, and I knew he believe in me, no matter what.
Because these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, we'll sing hallelujah
I gasp and I cry the walls I've never seen but felt my entire life, have started to crack and fall. Will I live to see this revolution? Shall we win? I feel the changes coming, oh hallelujah! Praise the gods, I dance and sing amongst those who are akin to me. I can't help but give him a glance, he standing there grinning like a fool. He knew this day was coming, I should have believed him.
So we've been outnumbered
Raided and now cornered
It's hard to fight when the fight ain't fair
We're getting stronger now
Find things they never found
They might be bigger
But we're faster and never scared
You can walk away, say we don't need this
But there's something in your eyes
Says we can beat this
He tells me he can't take this anymore, and I sink to my knees whispering, "You said you'd always be there for me… That you'd believe in me until the end."
The fighting isn't fair, we've been hurt, we've been raided and cornered, but we've come out of it the stronger and faster. They'll find the things they've never seen before, they're bigger sure, but we'll win. We're faster and never scared, we're gonna win this.
Despair has come and gone, there've been the whispers of we don't need this, but they always stay, with a gleam in their eyes that says to all we can do this, we can beat the norm.
Because these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
This revolution, the time will come
For us to finally win
And we'll sing hallelujah, well sing hallelujah
Things are changing, I can't help but feel the tears that were threatening to fall, fall. I feel the changes upon the air, everything's about to come crashing down. The perfect world that had been created, will be shattered, their illusions turned to dust.
This is a revolution, its time for us to win. The walls are coming down, soon we'll be able to rejoice, revel in our victory. Our heroics, unannounced, will be known, and if not remembered, it's ok by us.
Tonight we stand, get off our knees
Fight for what we've worked for all these years
And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives
But we'll stand up champions tonight
Its time! The end is near, all these years, the battles that have come and gone. Soon it'll be over, and we can relax and just be. Off our knees, on which we were praying, we go to battle, it's the fight of our lives, we'll come out the victors. No more shall they be the champions in this war.
It was the night things changed
Can you see it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down
It's a revolution, throw your hands up
Cause we never gave in
And we sang hallelujah, we sang hallelujah
Hallelujah
It's been over, five years now. The walls of our society came crashing down about their ears. Finally, equality if not reigns supreme, at least it's known once more. My friends have settled down, and I… I am waiting for him to come back to me. He once told me he would believe in me and never leave me. Yet he did, but I have no doubt he'll be back.
After all, I am the love of his life, and you can't so easily replace a soulmate, the only person who can understand you without a word being said. Until then, I'll wait, and watch jealously as my friends have children and grow old, while I sit here in the twilights gloaming, and cry my tears of triumph, regret and remembrance in silence.
