Butterfly Kisses
Time stops and words go unspoken,
Soft touches and butterfly kisses.
The rush of emotions,
The feel of your hands.
The never-ending beat of our hearts,
Our breath intertwined.
The sweet smell of surrender,
The glorious tang of lust.
A continuous kaleidoscope of soul,
Unbroken and determined to flow.
Gasping for air, but no time to breathe,
Enraptured by your touch without a moment to care.
Rock hard against supple,
Molding flesh to flesh.
The wondrous touch of your lips,
A battle of wills.
The clock continues to tick,
Not a care in the world.
The light is fading,
The day is ending,
But we will not surrender,
We will persevere through it all.
You pull away saying it's time to go,
Taking my hand, you head for the door.
The sad notes of farewell,
The last kiss goodnight.
Walking away, leaving me there
Hoping that tomorrow will bring so much more.
Adrift goes my mind,
It wanders around.
My racing thoughts are all of you,
And those sweet, caring butterfly kisses.
