The Mysterious Hunting of a Vicaree
Some legends tell of giant Loats
That swim the ocean floor
With shining fangs and jagged claws
That drag along the shore.
Still others tell of spiky Meets
And all their mean encounters-
And also there are Hoolapence
And Finnegans and Bouters,
But all of these seem fully tame
When Vicaree are mentioned!
No matter how they're talked about
Or what the tale's intention,
The Vicaree seem ever cruel!
Sure woe awaits who find them,
But still there are some lazy minds
That hope to catch and grind them.*
So long ago, there was a Mouse,
Who thought, with no good cause,
That cheese could charm the brilliant beast!
The Mouse was swallowed raw,
But right before the fearsome fish
Closed down its fearsome jaws,
The little Mouse said something strange:
It is a Demurage!
And ever since, the smaller fish
That witnessed that sad fate
Have wondered at the utterance
And what it might have meant.
Star:
For ground, you see, they make a paste
That brings good wealth and fortune,
And with a bit of cabbage juice,
Increases twice that portion.
