All the clocks are watching us ticktock

Down into the city

Watching pretty lights along the water

With our sun dresses and straw hats

Rafts of sunshine floating on the creamy rim

As we listen to the hourly hymns

Like a million chimes

Like a zillion dimes falling

Into a lake blistered with floating babies

Warm and silky upon the surface of my mind

And all the world will try to coat our tongues with milky reason

And soon the seasons won't change

They'll just all stay the same

A streaky stain along the sky taped to my window
