"The Heart Will not Win Against The Mind" (THT)

Oh, I gave my heart so willingly

Trustingly raw

Naively uncomprehending

Altogether entirely consuming

Tired of prying your heart open

Never gaped wide enough towards me

I tried; you truly failed

It wasn't right

Full of dignity, fire, innocence, and intelligence

She walked away

A/N: I guess I wrote this poem in hopes of winning the current battle of the Heart and Mind. By letting my heart win, I got clobbered. I learned that while one should let the heart feel, the mind should make the decisions as well. The last couple of lines was supposed be filled with a sense of strength and dignity. The adjectives aren't exactly true only innocence and intelligence are probably true. The rest are probably ideal.
