I'm Tyler Smith. I have shaggy blonde hair, blue eyes, I'm 5'9, and completely straight! My mom just doesn't understand that I'm straight! She's been trying to get me to be gay ever since I popped out of her! And because of that, my dad left her! Anyways, my best friend is October Whyte. She's like a sister to me, which is too bad because she's hot! Eww…It's like I think my sister is hot, gross. Anyways! She has black hair and blue eyes. She's 5'7 and she dresses kind of emo and kind of goth. Her parents fight a lot so she's at my house most of the time.

"Tyler, sweetie, your date is going to be here soon!" My mom yells from the bottom of the stairs.

"Mom! I'm not gay! Stop sending me on blind dates with guys!" I yell back to her.

"Oh honey! Stop hiding in the back of the closet already!"

"I'm not in the closet so don't expect me to come out of one ever!"

"Stop lying to yourself!" My mom's cut off when the doorbell goes off. "Get down here and answer the door! Your date's here!"

"No! I'm not going on another date with another guy!"

God I hate my mother! Why can't she understand that I'm straight?! I like girls! Not guys! I've never even thought about liking guys and my mom has tried to get me to like them all my life! All seventeen years! I'm not going on another date with another guy!

My mom walks into my room with a little blonde guy following behind her. "Sweetie, this is Lukas. Lukas Bailey. He's your date for tonight! Isn't he the cutest?!"

"I'm not gay, so no, he's not cute. Not at all."

"Tyler! Don't be so rude!" My mom looks over at Lukas. "I'm sorry honey, it's just Tyler's time of the month." She giggles and so does Lukas.

"I don't have a time of the month!" I let out a frustrated sigh and walk over to Lukas, grab his arm, and drag him out of my room, down the stairs, and out of the house. "Where do you want to go? I don't want to be out long because I have a straight life to get back to."

"How about we go to dinner and a movie and go dancing and-"

I cut off Lukas before I kill him because he's talking too much. "How about just dinner?"

"But I want to get to know you!" Lukas gives me a big smile.

"Well, I don't want to get to know you. I am not gay so we will not be having a second date. Understand?"

"O-oh…" Lukas sounds a bit hurt.

"My mom wants me to be gay, that's why she set this up. And that's why I want to make this quick."

"Okay…just dinner then…"

I start walking off in the direction of the restaurant I usually take the guys my mom sets me up with. Everyone that works at the restaurant thinks I'm a gay player. Lukas starts walking up behind me.

"Where're we going?"

"A restaurant."

"Which one?"

"One with food."

"What's the name?"

"Copper Penny."

"I've never been there…Is the food any good?"

"What do you think?"

"Well! Since you don't want to be on this date with me you could be bringing me to a really crappy restaurant…Soooo the food might be bad!"

"I wouldn't go to a restaurant with bad food because I would still have to eat the food, genius."

"Well maybe you don't really eat much and—"

"Do you ever shut up?"

"Hmmm…Not really!"

I stop walking and look over at Lukas. I cannot handle all of his talking! I would strangle him by the time the food got to our table. "I'm going home. If I went on this date with you, you would lose your life. So I'm leaving for your safety. Bye." I start walking towards my house.

"Wait!" Lukas runs up to me. "I can try to stop talking so much!"

"I highly doubt that that's possible." I keep walking.

"But I want to go out with you!"

"Why? I'm straight."

"But you're so hot!"

"And you're annoying."

"I know! But! Just go out with me! Please!"

"If I did I would strangle you. Stop talking and leave me alone."

"Fine!" Lukas pouts. "Meanie head!" Then he runs away.

I get home and walk inside. My mom's sitting on the couch, probably waiting up for me. "Hey sweetie! What happened to the date?"

"If I went on that date, Luke would be strangled."

"Sweetie! Don't be so rude!"

"I'm just telling the truth."

"How did you ever get so rude? You used to be such a nice and kind little boy…"

"Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you keep trying to make me gay! I'm straight! I like girls! I'll never like a guy! Okay?! So stop setting me up with them!"

"Sweetie!"

Before she could keep talking I go up the stairs and into my room. God she's annoying!
