Tyler Smith was an ordinary seventeen year old boy on the outside. Anyone from school would think that he led a normal life…but they were wrong. All of his life Tyler had to deal with a crazy woman, and that woman was his very own mother. She had it in her mind that he was meant to be gay and nothing was going to stop her until he finally realized it for himself. She was so obsessed with it that her husband left, unable to deal with a woman that had such weird fantasies for her own son.
Tyler had shut himself up in his room ever since his mother told him that she was sending him out on yet another date with some random boy that she knew was gay. Tyler knew that it was coming close to the time that the boy was going to be showing up and he was dreading it. He hated having to tell all of these guys that his mother was crazy and that he wasn't actually gay.
The doorbell went off and Tyler groaned as he knew what was coming next. "Tyler, my beloved son, your date will be here any minute now~" He heard his mother bellow from the bottom of the stairs in a sickly, cheery tone.
"Mom I already told you that I'm not doing this anymore! Get it through your thick skull that I'm not gay!" Tyler shouted back, not wanting to move from his bed since he was comfortable and enjoying the show that he was watching on the television.
"Oh honey, the closet is no place to hide!" His mother called back to him with a slight giggle. She found his denial to be quite adorable at times.
"I'm not in the closet!" Tyler shouted back angrily, not understanding why his mother wanted him to be gay so badly. It was then though that the doorbell went off which meant that the boy his mother was trying to set him up with had arrived. Tyler let out a sigh and rolled over in his bed.
"Honey, come down here and answer the door! Your date is here!" His mother called out from the bottom of the stairs, hoping that her son wouldn't put up much of a fight.
"No! I'm not going on another date that you've set up!" Tyler yelled back. Why didn't his mother understand? Not in all of the seventeen years of his life had he even thought of being with another guy!
It wasn't much longer until his mother barged into his bedroom, a small, blonde boy following behind her as she did so. "Sweetie, this is Lukas. He's going to be your date for the night! Isn't he just the cutest thing you've ever seen?"
"Uhh…no. Guys aren't cute for me." Tyler stated bluntly, not caring if he hurt the boy's feelings at all.
"Tyler! Don't be so rude!" His mother then looked towards Lukas. "I'm so sorry, honey, it's just Tyler's time of the month." She giggled along with Lukas.
"I don't have a time of the month!" Tyler let out a frustrated sigh as he sat up in his bed and hung his legs off the edge. He then pushed himself off of his bed and stood up, walking over to Lukas and grabbing his arm before dragging him out of the room, down the stairs, and out of the house. He stopped on the front porch after closing the door and looked towards Lukas. "Where do you want to go? I don't want to be out too long because I have a straight life to get back to." He stated bluntly.
