AN: Here we go. Sorry I didn't update when i said i would, but i've been...busy. So here it is. Sorry it's not that long. Hope you like it!
I shifted silghtly and felt something tug at my arms. What the...
I opened my eyes slowly. Damn, they're thick with sleep. What the- have I been asleep for 5 days or something?! I looked down at my arm.
Ew. IV. In my right arm. I shivered. I do not like needles.
Okay, time to sing another song...um...damn. My minds blank. Huh, that's weird...
"Damn," I croaked. "Ow, that hurts. Ha, that too. Oow! OW! HAHA! OW!" I have NO idea why I'm laughing but it hurts too. Which is making me laugh harder. Damn, vicous circle.
I looked around the room and notcied Josh sleeping in the chair. "JOSHIE!" I screamed. I tried to throw my arms up but on had an IV and the other was in some cast/sling thingie...huh. Then it turned into a full out laughing fit.
"S-sorry, b-but I c-can't s-stop l-l-laughing," I managed to say. After a few minutes I'd calmed down and asked him, "So, what's going on with you?"
"Not much. Just been freaking out and barely sleeping. The ass of a medic -who Damien beat up by the way- had given you morphine. You've been unconscious for 2 days," He said running a hand over his face.
"I would hug you...but it's kind of hard at the minute. I'm fine though, Josh. Seriously, I'm peachy," I grinned. He smiled slightly and kissed my forehead.
"The guys will be happy your awake. They've been living in the waiting room."
"Huh," was all I said. "So, whens visiting hours?"
He grinned and walked out the room. A few minutes later I heard lots of footsteps and the door banged open to reveal the whole football team.
"JO!" They all shouted.
"Fellas!" I shouted (uh, more like croaked) ," How've you been? You all like shit if I'm honest."
"Nice to know," Steve said. They all crowded around my bed and then I saw who was missing.
"Where's Damien?" I asked as I looked around. Hey...why are they avoided my gaze?! Hmm...who shall I glare at? I think I shall glare at my dear twin...
He fidgeted under my gaze and then finally said, "He's, uh, with his Dad."
"Oh. OH!" I said. His dad. The guy who just got remarried. "Shit, well good luck to him."
"Yeah, that's what we told him too," Jon said.
I smiled and then found the most amazing thing ever, "OMFG! BIG RED BUTTON!" There was a big red button that was attached to something. I pressed it and then again and again and again and again and again and again an-
"Jo! Stop! Your giving yourself drugs!" Josh cried as he yanked the thing out my hands. I felt like I was a little child getting his favourite toy taken away. I stared at him with wide eyes and my lower lip started trembling.
His eyes widened in shock, "No, Jo, please, don't cry. Look you can have it back!" He quickly shoved it back in my hand and I beamed at him, the 'tears' gone.
"Thanks bro," I said before pressing the button again. Everyone else were trying to smother their laughter. "So," I said as continued to press the button repeatedly, "What['s wrong with me?"
"You have a fractured ankle and had a dislocated shoulder," Sam explained.
"Of course then there was the morphine, which you're allergic to, so you've been unconscious since then," Tom carried on.
"Cool," I said, slurring slightly, "So, what's happened to Leer Boy? Is he dead?"
All of them frowned in confusion and I exaggerated, "The ass that kicked me in my bad ankle."
All them started to scowl. "He has a hair line fracture in his arm and severely bruised ribs, along with two black eyes and a broken nose," Will said, anger tracing his voice.
"Huh," was all I said. You know, I never noticed how TALL everyone is. I mean, they're practically as tall as the building!
"You know what," I said as I pressed the button, "I think I've pressed this button to many times. Because you, Josh, are suddenly wearing a tutu. And you have a duck on your head. You know, I really like ducks. They're are so awesome. From now on I wish to be called Ducky! Jo no longer exists. Sorry Josh, you now have a duck for a twin. Quack."
Everyone was smiling and most trying not to laugh. "That's okay," Josh said as he pried the button out of my hand, I stared at it longingly until Josh put a pen in my hand. I started clicking it, "I like sucks too."
I beamed at him, "Great. Then you won't mind when I get a duck. Oh! As long as no ones a fox we'll be fine. I like foxes too, although I'm NOT a fox. Imagine, having a tail. It'd be weird. You'd walking out a door when suddenly you can't go any further because your tail is stuck in the door! That'd be nasty! Oh that reminds me, I want to paint my door."
"You do?" Josh asked, trying not to laugh.
I nodded confidently, "Yep. I want...to paint...it...bla-zzzzzz"
An hour or two later I woke up to peer into the face of Alice. "Allie pallie!" I cried.
"Joey jo!" she cried back. She hugged be carefully before the lecture started, "Do you know how worried I was? You were playing and then next thing I know you fell over and then your were screaming in pain! You know better then to scare me like that! And getting in a fight with another player! Honestly Jo."
I rolled my eyes at her, "Sorry. But he dissed my family. And the team. And then made crude comments about me and the team and the family."
Alice's face scrunched up, "Ew."
"I know."
"So, do you want to go shopping later?" Alice asked as she sat down beside me on the bed
I looked at her, "Alice. I'm in the hospital and have a broken ankle and a dislocated shoulder. I don't think shopping is the best thing right now."
She sighed, "Fine. But I WILL get you to the mall to shop for clothes one of these days."
I nodded and lent my head against her shoulder. "Alice?"
"Mm?" She mumbled as she lent her head on the top of mine.
"I'm tired," I sighed, closing my eyes, feeling weary.
"Okay hun, you go to sleep. I think Damien's coming to see you later," She stood up and patted my head.
"What? Damien," I tried to open my eyes but before I could say anything sleep claimed me.
What felt like days, I woke up with something warm holding my hand. I opened my eyes slowly and tried to get rid of the sleep. Ow. I feel groggy. And my heads pounding. And my ankle id throbbing lightly.
I shifted my head to the side to see Damien fast asleep, resting his head on the bed. I looked down at my hand and saw it encased in his bigger one. I gasped and it got stuck in my throat. Oi. He's holing my hand.
A beeping sound in the room started going faster ans faster and I looked around for the offending noise. Shit. It's a heart monitor! The fast beeping is my heart. Gah!
"Hey," Damien said as he looked at me with his dark eyes.
"Hey," I croaked back. Remain, calm. Everything, is, ok. I looked down at my hand again and Damien followed my gaze. When he realized he was holding my hand he quickly released it as if I was on fire. Damn, he seems to be doing that a lot lately.
"Sorry," he muttered. No! Don't apologize. It was FINE. I didn't mind AT ALL! "How are you feeling?"
"Like shit. I'm all groggy and have a pounding head-ache," I groaned, closing my eyes again so he wouldn't see the disappointment. Damn it, stupid love I have for him...
"Do you want anything? I can call a nurse in. Or get you some food, or drink," he babbled. I smiled.
"Your babbling," I told him. I opened my eyes to see him blush lightly. "And blushing." I watched as he blushed harder. Aw. He's so cute when he blushes.
He coughed nervously, "Right. So, uh, is there anything you want?"
Yeah, you. "Um, I could do with some chocolate," I said instead. Whoa, could you imagine his face if I told him that? Ha, that would be embarrassing.
He nodded and stood up, "I'll be right back." He walked out the door and five minutes returned with a yorkie bar. I eyes it hungrily before snatching it out his hands and stuffing it.
"So," I said as I licked my fingers, "How'd the thing with your dad go?"
"They told you, huh? Well, basically it was a nightmare. I had to have lunch with him. At first it was ok, just me and him. But then halfway through his wife and her kid come strutting through the door. I swear both of them are made of plastic or something."
"Hey, at least they would melt if you burned them," I offered.
He smiled and laughed, "That would be good."
"So what else happened," I asked, sitting back and listening.
"The usual. The kid flirted with me non stop and I ignored her as much as possible. It didn't work that well as she was trying her hardest to get my attention."
I laughed and hoped he didn't hear how strained it was. I'm going to kill that bitch when I get my hands on her.
I smiled at him, "At least you got out alive."
He nodded in agreement, "Yeah it's a blessing really."
"So when do I get out here?" I asked, changing the subject.
He smiled again, "Soon. I actually came to spring you. The doctor should be in right, about..."
Just then the door opened and a doctor came in.
An hour later Damien was helping me hobble towards his car. "You know, even though I've been in the hospital millions of times before, I've never been in a wheel chair."
"Really?" He asked shocked, "I thought you would have your own room by now."
I punched him lightly with my good arm, "Haha, very funny. Lets just keep walking."
We finally managed to get to his truck and he had to lift me up to get in there. We remained silent for thw whole drive, just listening to the radio.
When we finally got back to the apartment, it took me half an hour to hoble up the first flight. We lived on the top one. In the end Damien picked me up and carried me up.
I had to concentrate on not hyperventilating. Is is really sad that all I could think of was, I fit perfectly in his arms?
God I'm sad.
He finally set me down outside the door and I opened it and turned on the lights.
"SURPRISE!" People screamed.
I screamed and fell back wards. I was about to land on my back when a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. Damien set me up straight and laughed, along with everyone else in the room. Everyone else was the football team, Alice and her friends and then a few other people who I didn't actually know.
A 'get well' sign was tacked up up on one wall and balloons were everywhere. Blimey. All I had was a broken leg and a dislocated shoulder.
"Wow, um, thanks," I said as I hopped further inside.
Josh came up and hugged me before dragging me to the sofa. He sat me down and then dragged some other girl in front of me. He looks nervous. Why is he nervous?
"Jo, I want you to meet someone. Jo, this is Jenna, my girlfriend," he said slowly. Wait a second...did hejust say-
"GIRLFRIEND?!" I shouted.
AN: Sorry not much happened. More will in the next one. Please review!
