If clouds could but carry us
Lift us away
Like whales in an ocean
Above us, today
If rain could but fall
And wet me, my back
Punish me coolly
Under water's attack
Could I climb up
Those drops to the sky?
To reach a great height
Never seen by my eye?
Could I but ride a nimbus or two
Take it to Denmark and splash down with a poof?
I wonder what clouds
Chase that keeps them afloat
Like rafts seek the surface,
What makes them their own boat?
We seem distant cousins
Cheering each, on
Each bound to our purpose
Each where we belong
If our purpose is pure, then
There should be a way
To drift off in a flurry,
No hurry,
Today
