As she coiled
the tender fibers of her
lacy black hair
in one finger,
a cold chill drove up my
stomach and crashed into my heart
when she tapped me on
the shoulder
to hand me the note
covered in pink and
yellow hearts at the corners
and a red kiss from her lips
dead-center.
I felt that note press into my
Skin like a virus
And my fingers trembled .
Her blue eyes fondled me
And spat me out
I could hear the steady
beat of her sexy black
low-heeled flats
showing white socks
up to below the knee
and a distant bell
which could not
contain the drumming
in my ears
I remembered
a red Lowrider in the park,
coronas and cholos,
and a radio in the cold night air
playing by the fence
the faint sound of a
song, while
I sat there alone,
turned into an oldy,
her message:
You cheated,
You lied.
