A Boy Crazy Secret

Chapter 6

I awoke, feeling rather than seeing a large, warm, muscular arm thrown casually over my stomach. I wriggled a little, fearing what it could be, but all that led to was a groan. The headache I had was the worst I'd ever had.

"Mrph" I moaned, holding a hand to my forehead, and pushing at the arm on my torso. It didn't move.

Forcing my eyes open, I glanced at the body beside me, briefly wondering where I was, before it all came rushing back.

Oh god. Last night. It had been…last night had been a terrible mistake. What had I done?! What had Phillip done to me? Was I dead?

I suddenly realised I was a lot more conscious than I had initially thought, and scrambled away from the body that was thrown over half of mine.

"Get OFF me, you jerk!" I screamed, cowering beside the wooden desk that resided near the window.

"Trisha?" a sleepy voice asked. Oh, the body was speaking! I wondered what I should do. This guy had tried to rape me! Should I run? I peered out the window, but unfortunately there was no ledge or tree that I could use to escape. But I saw something really strange – something closely resembling my house, and my street. I could even see a car that closely resembled my parents'. Looking more closely, I realised that I could even see a bedroom window, that looked remarkably like mine, and something that looked like my bed and my desk and my walls.

"Sorry. Did you think I was Phillip?" he asked, slowly climbing out of his bed. I blushed furiously when I saw that he wasn't wearing a shirt.

"Uh. Yeah." I blushed. "What am I doing here?"

At my next door neighbour's house, no less.

"I brought you home last night. You weren't in any condition to go home and I figured I'd take care of you. It's my fault that he did this to you," he replied, looking at me closely, with a slightly annoyed expression on his face.

"Oh…I'm sorry."

"This isn't your fault! That bastard…Phillip. He did this. I should never have let him crash Iona's party."

"It's not your fault," I told him.

"It is," he repeated.

"I can't believe that he took my first kiss…and my second…"

"Really?" He asked me, shocked. "That was your first kiss?"

"Yes," I told him defensively. "Not everyone starts having relationships that early in life." That, or, no one had ever been interested in me, and when they had, I'd never been interested back. So it explained my whole Lip-Virgin status. Until some time last week, anway.

"I'm sorry. If I'd known…"

"You couldn't have known that Phillip would do that to me," I told him.

"I know. I'm sorry anyway. I just wish I could do something to make this all better. I'm going to kill him."

I laughed weakly. "No, don't. I don't want you to go to jail. Anyway, you taking care of me is enough."

"Are you feeling better?" he asked me. Boy, he sure was full of questions this morning.

"I kinda have a really bad headache. I've never felt like this before." I felt a sudden spasm to my head, and held my hand up to my forehead again. "Do you think I have a fever?"

He chuckled slightly. "No, I think it's what you would call a migraine. You did have quite a few drinks last night, didn't you? And that bastard drugged you, I'd bet." He sat on the edge of his bed, facing me (still not wearing a shirt, I'd like to point out. I was NOT drooling…I hope), and patted place beside him.

"Take a seat. I think you should lie down a little longer."

I stared at him suspiciously. What was he doing? Why was he being so nice?

"Trish," he said, in a frustrated tone, "C'mon. I won't bite. Promise." It was his grin that did it. Slightly crooked, his deep blue eyes shone at me, and I just couldn't help but smile back.

"Okay," I replied, and went to sit beside him. He gently laid his hands on my shoulders, and pushed me down so that I was lying on the pillow.

"Rest. I'll get you some water and some Panadol."

"Okay," I said, my eyes closed. This was pretty comfortable. I let my thoughts drift aimlessly, but they only went back to the night before.

All of a sudden, I could see the images so clearly in my mind – Phillip pushing me against the wall, Phillip forcing himself onto me. The image was so clear, and yet fragmented in my mind. I could feel my throat catching as I tried to scream, but no sound came out. I don't know what happened, but the next thing I knew someone was shaking my shoulder vigorously.

"Trish! Trish! Wake up," Brad said, urgently.

I opened my eyes, and looked to see him gazing at me, leaning over me concernedly.

"It was just a dream. I won't let him hurt you again."

I held back the tears that were threatening to pour down – my fears and emotion was subsiding. I nodded, and rested my chin on my knees, wrapping my arms tightly around my legs.

"Here," he said, handing me a glass of water and some pills. "Drink this. It'll help."

I took a deep gulp, and swallowed.

"Thanks," I said to him.

He smiled at me.

"I don't think I'm ever going to try and get drunk at a party just to find out what it's like ever again," I told him, laughing weakly at my own joke. He laughed with me, but I could see that he was still worried. "Don't worry Brad. I'm fine. Seriously."

"Your thrashing a moment ago doesn't really help convince me of that, Trish," he told me.

"You wanna kiss me all better?" I asked him teasingly.

"I would, but I don't think it'll help." He didn't seem amused by my joke.

I blushed furiously, shocked and surprised at his response. Did that mean he actually wouldn't mind kissing me?

"It's just," he continued, "kissing was what got you into this situation in the first place. Now, I'm not saying that it was your fault that ANY of the kissing happened, but it's probably not the cure for you. Not," he added as what seemed to be an afterthought, "that I don't want to kiss you."

Okay, WHAT?

He looked at me weirdly. Had I just said that out loud?

He laughed. "Yeah, you kinda did."

I forced a laugh. Oops?

"So umm…what do you mean, exactly?"

"I have to admit…this is the first time I've had a girl sleeping with me in my bed before. And you are pretty cute. I can't really…help…what I'm feeling." I could see his cheeks start to redden, and laughed out at his expense.

"I'm sure this isn't the first time you've had a girl in your bed before, though," I told him.

"Unless I didn't know about it…it is." He looked away, as though he hadn't wanted to reveal that tid bit about himself.

"But…you've had sex before, right?" I was sure that I knew what he was going to say.

He looked at me strangely. "What makes you say that?" he asked.

"Well…from what I hear…it just seems like you're the type."

"What type, exactly?" His gaze didn't waver.

"Umm…" I said nervously. "I mean, you know. You're popular, you're hot, you're the school captain of St. Judes" I told him, embarrassed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make any assumptions."

"Say that again," he demanded all of a sudden.

"Say what?"

"You know."

"I didn't mean to make any assumptions…?"

"No, the part before that."

"You're the school captain of St. Judes." I thought he knew that already.

"No, before that."

Oh. I turned away, blushing. "Umm…you're hot?"

"You think I'm hot!" He grinned, and I would say it was maniacal if it weren't for the fact that I'm sure I was blushing like a maniac. I didn't want to be a hypocrite.

"No!" I backtracked. "I didn't mean…I mean, I didn't mean that I think you're hot. I meant, just in general, you know, because generally I think everyone thinks you're hot and its kind of more of just a generalisation because I think all guys are just you know…." I was blathering.

"You do," he laughed.

"I don't!" I insisted.

He pushed me back down on the bed, and out of the blue started to tickle me. Oh no. How on earth had he discovered my biggest weakness? I tried to squirm away from him, attempting to stop laughing and scream "Stop! Stop!" at the same time, but all that led to was me panting like an unfit crazed idiot and laughing even more, wriggling like the most naughtiest of puppies.

"Stop!" I tried to insist again, but that only made him laugh. He did stop though, and grin down at me.

"Did you know," I told him naughtily, "that tickling is the worst form of torture?! I could send you to jail! I hate you!"

"No, you don't," he said.

All of a sudden, I realised something. Brad was lying on top of me. I was on the bottom of him. We were in very close proximity. And he was still half naked. I looked up into his eyes, pensively.

"So you're a virgin?" I asked him, returning to our previous topic.

He groaned. "I don't see why we have to talk about this!"

"C'mon, just tell me! I promise I won't tell anyone your deepest, darkest secret," I teased him. It was weird, I thought. I'd never felt so carefree around anyone before. Well, except maybe Tia. But I didn't have any qualms about asking an almost-stranger if he was a virgin. There was definitely something wrong with me. The alcohol had definitely gone too far into my head.

"No. I'm not a virgin," he said shortly.

"Aww…is the little itsy witsy boy ashamed?" I continued pestering him. I wondered for a moment if I was going too far.

"I'm not lying."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," he said, and before I could get another word out, he placed his hands firmly on my shoulders, leaned down and firmly placed his lips on mine. My eyelids flew open, and I stared at his body pressed down tightly on mine. My gasp was stopped by the fact that…well the fact that his mouth was tightly placed on mine, and I couldn't really open my mouth to take a gasp.

I tried to push him off, albeit not very hard, but then I realised that…I actually kind of liked what he was doing. It actually felt good. I could feel a foreign sensation down in the pits of my stomach, and his body just felt so warm…and hard…and good. I closed my eyes and savoured the moment, and started kissing back. I found myself wondering if I was doing it right – I'd never had an actual kiss before. But I moved my lips against his, and well, it certainly didn't seem as though I was doing it wrong, if his moan of gratification was any sign.

And then I felt him open his mouth, and press his tongue against my lips. Hesitantly, I opened my eyes again, and slowly but forcefully pushed him away and sat up.

"What…what were we doing?" I asked him, as I came to my senses.

He looked at me, confused. "I…I don't know. I couldn't help it. You were just….oh god, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He stood, and walked to the far side of the room.

I gazed down at the bed, and didn't respond for a while. What was I meant to say? It felt good, but I'd never been really kissed before. And after last night…well, I didn't think I was quite ready.

He paced around the room, the pained expression on his face evident.

"Brad." I startled him. "I think we should…let's just…can we forget it ever happened?"

Brad looked at me, and came and sat down on the bed beside me. "Yeah. Okay. If that's what you want. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. For what it's worth…I did enjoy it," I told him, steadily avoiding his gaze.

He chuckled, placing his hand on mine. "So did I."

"I think I should be getting home. My parents are probably running around frantically trying to find me," I told him.

"Nah, Tia told them you were staying over with her, remember?"

"Oh, yeah."

"You hungry?" he asked.

"Let's go get some breakfast."

"Are your parents home?"

"They went out early. It's nearly noon," he told me.

"Oh," I said, realisation dawning upon me. I'd slept for almost twelve hours.

"So, breakfast?"

"Sure!" I told him, and he grabbed my hand and hauled me out of the bed. "Just go out the door and down the stairs to your left," he said. "I'll be down in a sec."

Raising my eyebrow, I looked at him strangely. "Okay. See you soon…"

As I was walking out the door, I thought I heard him muttering something strange. Something like "Oh man, I need a cold shower."

I blushed, and ran down the stairs, as though my life depended on it.
