Well sorry for the delay, I kinda got some serious writers block. Hopefully the next chapter should be done quicker.

James was sitting outside a set of swinging double doors in the clinic he was so used to now. After Angela's freak pains in the kitchen she had passed out, James reacted wildly to this, he thought she was dead; he didn't take enough time to notice her swollen stomach moving slightly with the shallow breaths she took. He could only remember certain things after that, he remembered Vivian running into the kitchen, drawn in by James' shouts and Kai's yelps. He remembered the ambulance crew turning up soon after; he didn't know how much time had passed from both of these entrances however. He remembered being herded into the passenger side of Vivian's car, and faintly recollected walking into the clinic. The next thing he properly recalled the blonde receptionist whom always greeted him and his wife so politely was handing him a polystyrene cup of coffee, patted him on the shoulder and told him that everything would be ok soon, and not to go wandering away from the place he was. That was about 25 minutes ago, as each second passed he got more and more agitated.

Meanwhile, through the double swinging doors Angela was lying on a long hospital gurney, she had been slightly sedated but was still aware of her surroundings, she had properly came around mere seconds ago.

"What's going on? Where am I? Where's James?" A person started talking, a person she could not see from her position on the slab. The voice was calm, unfamiliar and sounded as though it had went through this kind of things many a time.

"Calm down Angela, you're in the clinic, now do not worry but we think something may have happened to the babies, we need to perform an emergency Ceresin Section on you." The rest of his words were drowned out by a vacuuming sound in Angela's head. There was something wrong with her children. She lifted her head as high as she could, attempting to see the person speaking, the only thing she saw was a curtain-like apparatus. She tried to move her arms was completely unable, she couldn't feel her arms let alone move them, as a matter of fact she couldn't feel anything from her neck down, she started to panic. She heard something to the left of her beep rapidly.

"Angela please calm down, we don't want the babies anymore stressed than they already are." Angela tried to breathe deeply to calm her nerves and after a few minutes the beeping she could hear slowed.

"Angela, it's Vivian, now we are about to start the procedure, don't worry you won't feel any pain, now because this is an emergency caesarean it is standard procedure not to allow anyone into the room."

"No, James, I need him here with me!"

"I understand, I assumed as much, we're just fitting him with a breathing mask right now and he will be here in a few seconds." As if he were waiting for his cue James scurried into the room, sweat beads rolled down his wrinkling forehead.

"Angela, I'm here baby, don't worry." Angela nodded as James caressed her face lightly, she took a deep breath.

"Dr Harper are you ready to start?"

"I am. Angela we are about to make the first incision you won't feel anything until we take the children out and even then it will only be a feeling of pressure being released."

"Ok." Angela turned her head into James' hand; he watched as Vivian leaned towards Angela's stomach and then felt James' hand tense. After what felt like a life time she felt a strange pressure near her stomach then a soft mewling cry filled the room. Her head snapped towards the source but the curtain blocked her view. James however saw a small red bundle being held to a nurse who stood to the side of Vivian and a few minutes later another small bundle was being passed to a different nurse, the cries cut off by tiny hiccups and splutters. Angela's breath caught as she listened to the sound of the babies whimpers and coughs, a tear rolled down her cheek. She felt a different kind of pressure for a few moments and then heard Vivian's familiar accent.

"So parents, would you like to see your children now?" Angela frantically nodded, along with James, they were both lost for words. The two nurses trotted over to the couple, a red haired slim woman clutched onto a small pink package and silently handed it to James, carefully reminding him in gestures how to support the baby's head and departed. A chubby greying haired woman approached Angela, someone was adjusting the bed she was in so she was now sitting up, the same person pulled over a chair for James to sit in, and he slumped back regarding the tiny baby in wonder.

"Angela you still won't be able to hold the babies just yet, the anaesthetic we had you under numbed you pretty much everywhere; it will last for a few more hours, there is a small cot here for the babies, we're going to leave them here for a few minutes with you before we go through the normal procedures, I arranged it with the doctor here." Vivian's voice was comforting but Angela still could not respond as she watched the nurse carrying her son waddle over to her, cooing at the baby in her arms, she reached Angela and showed the baby to the new mother. A little face could just be made out among the folds of blue blanket that encased him. More fat tears rolled down Angela's face as she finally realised that all of this had actually happened, as it settled in that these minute babies were hers and her husband's. Her eyes fluttered slightly and she began to feel extremely tired so reasons she didn't understand, she fought to stay awake but it was a losing battle and soon enough her head lolled against the bed dreams of her new children running through her mind. James was sitting simply looking at his new child, he stood up feeling invigorated and crossed to the plastic hospital cot that one of the clinic's nurses had set his son down in, he never saw which nurse but he mentally thanked her, he mentally thanked everyone in fact as he cautiously placed his tiny daughter beside her tiny brother and leaned over the two of the, mesmerised by the sight of them wriggling their noses and squirming in their coloured blankets.

"Joshua and Evangeline... Joshie and Evie... Josh and Angel..." he whispered the different names, just louder then Angela's steady breathing, he stopped when he heard a door open.

"Right, it's been ten minutes James, they will be right back trust me, we just need to go through the usual procedures."

"Of course," James nodded at Vivian when she swished into the room, it took him a moment to let go of the sides of the plastic wheeled cot, his paternal instincts not wanting his children to be carted away from him.

"You should be able to have a little sleep though James; it's been a long day for the both of you. You'll have the babies and a copy of their information when you wake up, ok?" James told himself he would not fall asleep but just like Angela it was a losing battle before Vivian had wheeled out the babies his head hit the side of Angela's mattress and his soft snoring filled the room.
