Perfectly Perfect
"Hey, baby…" Caleb smiled at me sweetly as he pecked me on the lips.
"Hi…" I looked up and smiled back at him. Just by staring at his beautiful grey-blue eyes, I was in a trance.
"I missed you…" he said as he hugged me.
"Me, too…" I hugged him back. "But I just saw you last period." I joked.
"Don't care…" he laughed. "Come on, we're going to be late." He stuck out his hand and we started to walk towards our class.
Caleb James Wright. He's the boyfriend of Alexis Rose Worthington. Me. We were in the beginning of our senior year in college. Caleb had taken me to prom in high school, and asked me out then. I had secretly loved him since… the beginning of time. Well… more like seventh grade. And of course, to his question… I said yes. And we've been together ever since. We were always with our little group though. Caleb had his guys and I had my girls. Caleb's friends: Skylar and Jacob. And my girls: Hailey and Lillian. Most people at our school called us the golden group. We weren't snobby or stuck up… people just thought that we were above average… I have no clue why, but that's what people said. Caleb had played football for the fall season, basketball for the winter season, and lacrosse for the spring season. The typical 'cool' guy sports… I guess you could say. Skylar and Jacob did the same. The three of them were basically inseparable. Ever since I first saw them, I never liked them… but as I got closer with Caleb, they kind of grew on me. Hailey and Lillian had been my best friends since… basically the day we were born… that was it… the "Golden Group."
Caleb was the one guy that all the girls wanted and were after, but for some reason he picked the plain jane. Me. Alexis Rose Worthington. I always thought that he was out of my league… but I guess dreaming and wishing really does do something… Caleb was my perfect guy… he had brown hair that was cut short, but hung right over his beautiful eyes. His muscles were buff and comforting in a way… his six-pack… that would take hours to explain, so let's just sum it up and say… hot. I just loved him. That summed it up. Me, on the other hand, the plain jane doesn't need a lot of hours to explain. I had long, chocolate hair that semi-curled and reached my back… my eyes were a plain brown and my skin… as Caleb said 'smooth and soft.' I was around 5'7", had a short torso and long legs. I was tan like Caleb and that was about it. Sports… I played basketball, soccer, and tennis for college… That's all. Nothing so amazing about Alexis Rose Worthington.
-flashback-
"Alexis Worthington?" someone called.
"Hmm?" I turned around and found the one guy that I had a crush on since… forever.
"I was wondering…" he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Y-yeah?" I said a little nervously and turning red. My heart had been thumping so loudly and my stomach was doing somersaults.
"I was wondering… if you want to go prom with me." He smiled his gorgeous at me.
Me… Me? Me!? "M-me…?" I stuttered… not sure if he was asking me or another Alexis behind me.
"Yeah…" he started to stutter himself. "That's if… that's if you want to."
I took a breath and smiled at him. My thoughts whirled. The most popular guy in the entire school wanted to go to prom. With me. Me! What was I going to say? How would I say it? This is a dream… oh my gosh. If someone wakes me up, I swear I'm going to kick them in the ass. Then, I returned to reality and realized that he was waiting for an answer… I lamely replied, "Of course."
His face brightened and his smile dazzled.
After After prom…
"That was so much fun!" I giggled as I breathed in the night air.
"Yeah, it was…" Caleb smiled at me and stared.
"What?" I asked him… what was he staring at. I looked behind me. "What are you looking at?"
"The most beautiful person in the world."
"Really? Where?" I turned and looked around like the stupid me. Then, I turned around to ask where the person was… but I found his face in front of mine.
"Right here." His hand came up and cupped my face and he leaned in and just pecked my cheek.
He was so considerate… and gentle… and sweet… and… I could go on forever…
-flashback-
"Lexy." Caleb called.
"Hmm?" I turned to him. We were in the middle of Journalism III… the most boring class ever… never take it.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah… why?"
"You're zoning out a lot."
I smiled to myself. Aww… he's worrying for me. "I'm perfectly fine, thank you." I leaned over and pecked him on the lips.
"Miss Worthington." the teacher, Ms. Lendel, called. "Please save your make-out sessions for after school, and if not, at least after this class." She said trying to embarrass me.
I swear I could just feel a growl creeping up towards my throat, but I swallowed it back down and just smiled at her, "Well, Ms. Lendel… it's just that Caleb's lips are so seductive… don't you think?" I said with a sexy voice trying to tease her.
"Miss Worthington!" Ms. Lendel screamed.
"Okay, okay… I'm sorry…" I sighed. "I'll wait 'til after class."
"Thank you." She sighed.
As she walked away I felt Caleb's hands touch my thigh. I turned my head. He passed me a note… talking right now, Ms. Lendel would probably blow.
~Why do you torture the poor lady? Even though it was pretty funny…
I smiled and started to scribble onto the paper.
~I'm not torturing her… besides this class is kind of boring, so I was saving our entire class from their misery. Don't you think? Besides, I know you loved the part where I said your lips were so seductive…
I carefully tossed the note back to his desk and looked up at the board where she was writing something about Shakespeare, and before I knew it, the paper was back. I opened it.
~Whatever…
~You know you loved it. Admit it.
~Alright, alright… God…
~Told you.
~Yeah, yeah…
~I love you, Caleb.
~Love you too, baby.
By the time the note-passing cliché was over… so was the class.
We both ran out and as soon as we stepped out, we linked our hands and headed towards the cafeteria where we would meet the rest of our friends.
"Alexis!" Hailey yelled from the cafeteria door. Behind her were Lillian, Skylar, and Jacob.
"Hey, guys!" I waved as I walked up to them with Caleb.
"What's up man?" Skylar and Jacob came up to Caleb and gave each other those manly hug whatever you called them.
"Come on, let's go get something to eat." I looked at Caleb.
"Coming…" he smiled as we walked in to go sit at our table.
As lunch passed by we just talked about random things. And something that came up was my piano and violin concert.
"Hey, Caleb." I looked over at him.
"Yeah?" he continued tracing patterns on my hand.
"Are you free this Saturday?" I asked.
"Umm, I think so. Why?"
"I have a piano concert." I smiled. "You think you can come?" I said hopefully.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." He said as he pecked my lips.
"Thanks…" I smiled happily. I had been playing piano ever since I was four and I had been playing violin since six. Not to be conceited, but I was good at both. I was successful in music and my grades. I had gotten a 4.0 GPA all throughout college and high school, so my parents would be proud. And when I met Caleb long ago, my parents were even happier. They said that he "fit the standards." Whatever that meant. I had orchestras that played behind me and performed at Julliard lots of times. I guess I was pretty good… in a way... but back to lunch.
The bell rang and we all cleaned up and got ready to leave. All of our schedules were set up for the morning so we had the afternoon free.
"All right… what should we do?" Jacob asked everyone.
"I don't know, but next time we're not eating lunch here… we're going out." Skylar said as he threw away half his lunch.
"Spoiled brat." I teased him with a disapproving look on my face.
"Hey, if you weren't Caleb's girl I would've beat you up by now." He joked right back.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
I couldn't start of a comeback… so I just burst out laughing along with everyone else.
"How about we just hang out today? Like at the park." Lillian suggested.
"Sure, why not?" Caleb agreed. "You guys up for it?"
"Sounds great." I smiled.
"Then, let's head out." Jacob pointed out the door. I got into Caleb's car, Hailey got into Jacob's car, and Lillian got into Skylar's car.
As Caleb and I drove off towards the park, my mind started running. "I swear…"
"What?" Caleb looked at me.
"Those four are going to end up together…"
"You mean Skylar and Jacob? With your girls?" he asked me.
"Yeah. Don't you think so?" I looked at him.
"I don't know…" he said with a puzzled look.
"Yeah… I guess we'll see…" I just smiled.
