"Wrong Song, Wrong Boy"
July 25, 2009
It's disgusting,
How you keep discussing
Her name—
Her frame—
Ugh.
It's the wrong song that I'm singing.
While your telephone's ringing off the hook,
The words I mistook to be real,
Caused me to reveal how I feel.
No more—
I'm out the door.
While my melody's fading,
No amount of persuading
Could make me repeat,
That ache of defeat.
Yeah, it seems like I'm hurt—
That I'm forever burnt.
But, see, I'm only singed,
Temporarily tinged with sadness
Because of your madness.
You turned me down.
I frowned for awhile,
Because of your intentions.
But, now I know I can smile,
Without needing your attention.
