This is what summer feels like
The hot humid air cooling in the sunset as it rushes by the windows
Smoke and laughter floating off as we play stop sign games and flirt with quick glances
Our fingers tangled together over the stick shift and nothing can catch us now
This is what summer feels like
Your skin under the covers as the crickets chirp outside
The fan adding a white noise background to the secrets and stories we pour into eachother's ear
Wearing little more than smiles
This is what summer feels like
Diving in without fear of rock or glass or broken promises or lies
Letting the worries wash away with the water and the wanting for everything to work out fine
Swimming through the cool
Because this is what summer feels like
You and me and not much else mattering
Taking a chance
And living it full
