You Noticed
Neither did my mom or dad
Closest friends or cousins
Notice me at this time of day
When I daydream and look in a different way
We were sitting under a tree that day
It provided a cool shade for us and our friends
We were waiting for the teacher to pass by
You didn't look at me once, and I asked myself why
I moved closer to you, something caught my attention
Two kids running about on the field, they looked cute
I got my notebook and put it on my lap
Then you looked at me, but I think I looked like crap
I was smiling like crazy when you looked at me
You smiled back too and asked if I was going to write again
I barely noted and averted my gaze back to the children
They were running freely, I envied them
You looked at our other friends and started chatting
While I continued to fix my attention on the two kids
Trying to find the words to write on my notebook
When I felt someone look
From my peripheral vision, I could feel you looking
But I shrugged it off, afraid that our eyes might meet
I looked at you for a split second and looked away
But you looked again, and this is safe to say
You were the only who noticed
The transparency of my world and how imaginative I am
When I looked at the little children running back and forth
You made me feel that this life has something worth
a/n: I just felt a little drabblish today. lol. :)
