Chapter Nine
Melanie:
Sitting on a park bench outside the hotel, I start to get in touch with what's real and what's not. This is too good to be real, I tell myself. I have to get back in touch with reality. This seemed like some stupid plot in some cheesy love story movie. The kind that either did well or tanked at the box office. The kind of movie that girls dragged their boyfriends to see, the boyfriends willing so that they can get some action while their girl sobbed over the sad love movie.
Man, I really got to get out more.
I think I have to tell him. It will be the only moral thing to do.
Who was I kidding, I could no longer keep up this masquerade.
I saw his car in the distance, and I realized.
I needed to tell him, right here, right now.
Let's just hope he was the type to take things like this alright.
Austin:
She was wearing a sleeveless red dress, went down a little bit above her knees. Her hair was pinned back. I liked it like that, so I can see her pretty face. She wasn't wearing much make-up, which was good, I hated girls who just painted it on. It wasn't one bit classy.
It was then I realized, that she looked even nervous than me.
She opened the door to the car, hands shaking.
"What's wrong?" I asked., concerned. I had never seen anyone like this.
"I have to tell you something", she said.
"What's that?" I asked. What could she have to tell me that was making her this nervous. It had to be something that she thought would make me not love her, make me want to never speak to her again.
"My last name", she said.
I didn't know what to say, or even what to do, other than to nod. I hoped she would take that as a cue to tell me, because now I was really curious.
"What I have to say may changed your opinion of me".
I knew what to say now. "I don't care, it will never change. I will always love you."
She blushed. "My last name is Davis. I am Melanie Davis, the singer."
