A short poem (very bad, I know) about the last few days :)
Sorry
Why is "I'm sorry" so hard to say?
It's only two words,
Three syllables.
But they stick in your throat,
Don't they?
Make your mouth go dry and your stomach clench.
The more that relies on those words,
The harder they are to say.
How much has been lost,
Friendships, girlfriends, boyfriends,
Maybe years of happiness,
Lost.
Gone in an instant,
Because of one argument
And two words that never got said.
I don't want that,
So I'm saying it now,
Loud and clear:
I'm sorry!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
A million times if I have to.
But I don't.
You say it's fine – we're cool.
Everything is forgiven, forgotten.
What else is friendship for,
If not to make the words "I'm sorry" a waste of breath?
