Silent Epiphany

Today the sun rose, brightly in the east as it does everyday

Only this time did I realize the beauty I had at bay

Perhaps it was your absence here that made me see

There's more to life than all of this misery.

It's branded on my heart, this permanent pain

It burns my insides slowly, suffocating me everyday

How hollow my heart was, when this sight fell upon me

Nothing in this world could bring you back to me

There was nothing else but the sorrow of your absence

I cried for what seemed like many eons before it hit me

You were there in the air, the sun, the sea

We shared this moment together, intimately

You live now in the beauties of my everyday life

I have only to pick up my head and open my eyes

Although the pain, it lingers, as you're gone

I'll try to keep the presence you still hold

Today the sun rose, brightly in the east as it does everyday

Only this one time did I realize the beauty I had at bay

You embraced me through the sun and the air in the trees

You comforted me…there's more to life than just this misery…
