Inspired to Grendel, my AP English 12 class, and long presentations on books we're supposed to have read. The title is taken directly from the text of Grendel. For any interested, the sentences it is contained in are wonderful, and towards the middle of the book.
mor(t)ality
this is sitting in class,
wondering what it is to die,
alone and surrounded
knowing it was all just fate
but wishing for more with that last dying breath.
was it worth it, this dying?
was it worth it at all?
