Irrepressible Utopia

She moved jerkily in the line,
their presences in front and behind
pushing her forward to the unknown future.
They are thrusting the unwilling and broken into reason.
Certain islands stand alone,
weather the coming storm,
wait for this unattainable hope.
Faintly, she goes into this brave new world.
