Beyond Time
The dirt gathered white as the sun turned its head
Lips pale red, she then said—"I have found it at last."
Face aghast with such awe, like she'd just seen a ghost
"You'll hate it," she whispered, "but it's what I want most."
"It exists," were the words that she whispered so low
Eyes did grow, face aglow—and so I believed
To perceive such a sound, such a voice—like a chime
"I've been there," she said, "in that place beyond time."
She told me of wonders, of creatures, of dreams
And she gleamed, smile beamed—"You should come there with me."
To be free to love thee—could our two hearts collide?
"You and I," she smiled, "hand in hand, side by side."
"It's real," were the words that she whispered so low
Pale as snow head to toe—and now I believe
To perceive such a sound, such a voice—like a chime
"I'll return," she vowed, "to that place beyond time."
