I sit on my bed

And remember the dead

And those who fought for freedom.

Thou they are gone

Their memories live on

As we think about what they have done.

Thousands of millions went off to fight

So we may be safe in our beds at night

And live a life full of joy.

We take it for granted how lucky we are

To have the lives we have lived so far

And all we can look forward to

They fought an enemy they had never met

For a resolution they may never get

Only something they believed in.

So we shall sit here today

In the most respectful way

And honor those who fell.
