I ran, my body was minutes away from being out of breath completely. Oxygen was flooding out of my body as fast as possible. Sure, it betrays me when I need it the most. Just like Jess did.
They weren't too far behind me now, their backs as straight as a telephone pole, their black uniforms looking like a thousand black dots racing behind me.
But I won't stop. I won't let them get to me.
