26Chapter 9: Sometimes, things just don't go as planned.
Everything was black. Pitch black. Emma stood in front of me asking me to do something, but all I could feel were the tears. Something that seemed like Emma wasn't seeing. She would usually ask me why I was upset? Why am I upset? All I could see was her smile and the blush on her cheeks. She had gotten skinner than the last time I saw her and her blonde hair was cut shorter. Her blue eyes didn't leave my face. They were pleading.
'Sharon? Mrs. Sanders? What is the answer Mrs. Sanders?'
My eyes flung open and I could feel the tears on my cheeks. "What?" I choked back the tears.
"Mrs. Sanders I do not tolerate slackers in my class!" The 6'5" rock stood over me and his green eyes melted with fury. The light from outside reflected off of his bald head and was distracting my innocent expression.
"Sharon! Why the hell are you crying!" The whole entire class turned to look at the show I was putting on. Even though I was crying, I found a way to smile at the situations that I always put myself into.
"Oh, you think this is funny?" His voice was full of fury. I watched as he carefully picked up and thick big stick from behind his desk. "This is the board of education and if I don't have the full attention from the students in my class, they will pay a very special visit to the back room. Do you understand?!"
took the stick and smashed it on the desk. I sat up straight and I could feel shivers running down my spine. The whole entire class turned around and quickly got back to work. They didn't want to be next.
"Okay, well now that Sharon understands the rules in this classroom, since she missed our little chat because she had a little accident. Let me introduce a new student to our class…"
I closed my eyes only to see the one face that had been stuck in my mind since I had meet him.
"Jakub…"
"Oh Mrs. Sanders? You know Jakub?"
I opened my eyes only to see looking down at me.
Shit Sharon. Keep your thoughts in your head. I have to be careful from now on.
"Umm y yes" I stuttered. I didn't want to go to the back room. Especially not after I found out that the other math teacher, Mr. Hill, was a complete pervert. Thank the lord that Laurie warned me.
"Oh sir, you really don't have to introduce me." He stood tall against the door. His golden brown hair was cut since the last time I had sawn him. What is with people and getting haircuts when I am gone. He caught my observing when his curious brown eyes scanned the class and turned to mine.
"I mean, I am sure some people already know who I am." He looked at me and I could see that he was still torn by the cast that was attached to my leg.
"Oh yes I do. Okay class this is Jakub Dynowski. He is an exchange student from Poland and please do make him feel welcome. Everyone except for some."
Mr. Vallance's eyes locked with Jeff Macinis, who was sitting two desks away from me. Jeff looked at me and his green eyes were still defensive.I could see that his pale hands were in fists under his desk. I have to negotiate if I want to make this work.
I looked at him and smiled, but it didn't change the defence. He turned back to his work.
My head snapped back up to see Jakub sliding into the desk beside Cassandra Burroughs. We called her Cassie. She was one of my friends, one of my first at this school. Her blonde hair was in curls today and her blue eyes instantly looked back at me.
"Sharon." she whispered to me handing me a little note. I smiled at her but I already knew what was coming.
I looked at the folded note and remembered what Laurie had told me the other day.
"I am sorry Sharon, I just couldn't ….."
"That's okay Laurie, Ill wait." I had to be patient.
"Sharon, he is going out with Cassie. She usually has long-term relationships." she hugged me tightly and assured me that it would all be okay.
"Don't worry Laurie, I have to be patient."
I had never really told her the rest of the story because I didn't want to see him or talk to him. It just hurt too much.
"Umm Sharon, did you see the note?" Cassie's eyes were excited for me to see the big news in the folded sheet of paper.
I looked down at the folded of paper sheet.
"Yes, I saw. I am very happy for you." I managed to smile.
"I know! Isn't it great!" Cassie put her arm around Jakub. He turned around to see who his girlfriend was looking at.
"Oh Sharon? Your in this class? I didn't know. Hi" I could see a smirk around the corner of his lips.
"No, actually I am not in this class. Anymore." You IDIOT!
I quickly gathered my books and turned to Jeff. His head snapped up to see my looking down at him. Sharon say something. SHARON! He smiled at me and I knew something was fishy. I looked behind me only to see looking down at me. I flinched back and the next thing I knew I was sitting in Jeff's lap. I could here the whole class's eyes on me and they were all smirking, including Jakub.
"Sharon I don't freakin' care if you have a cast on your stupid leg! You have a detention!"
"But sir…" I held the tears back and then I got furious. I wanted to say so much to him, but I didn't bother. Oh my goodness, I am sitting in Jeff's lap! I quickly got up and headed towards the door. Mr. Vallance shouted out from behind, but I didn't bother looking back and started walking towards the office.
I walked halfway to the office, but I couldn't just give up my science credit because that asshole walked through the door. I turned around and started walking back to the science class. Shit, this is going to be so embarrassing. I turned the last corner to my class, that's when I heard a voice from behind.
"Sharon?"
I turned around to find Emma standing in front of me with tears in her eyes.
"Hey Emma. What's wrong?" I hugged her tightly. As much as I hated her sometimes, she was one of my best friends. Sometimes you have to eliminate the hate and give the love when they need it the most. Emma looked up at me and I knew exactly what happened.
"Emma, its okay."
"Matthew dumped me and that's not okay." Emma's tears filled my shirt. I had always told her not to just date every guy that liked her or asked her out, but Emma was just a girl that wanted to be loved.
"Emma I told you and don't tell me I didn't tell you so." I was beginning to get mad.
"But Sharon! I loved this guy, I actually loved him!" She turned around, so that I couldn't see her face. She got me furious. I was always right about the guys she dated, but I mean hell, it was her life.
"Emma you know what! I don't give a shit anymore! I care and I always tell you what's right and wrong, but you never listen to me!" I turned around and started walking down the hallway.
"Sharon, where the hell do you think your going?" stood at the end of the hallway. I realized I walked past the classroom.
"You know, everyone can hear you? Now get the hell back into my classroom NOW!" I was beginning to think that man was always in a crabby mood.
Emma walked past me and into her physics class. I could see Laurie in her physics class and remembered that they had to sit beside each other. Awesome, now I have to deal with Emma in a different way. Like it isn't bad enough. Laurie's saw me and waved and I stopped to collect myself.
"Sharon! Stop daydreaming and get in the freakin' classroom!" He was furious.
I turned around to see his red face piercing my bravery of actually talking back to him. was a man that got away with his behaviour. He was the only good basketball coach that ever happened to the school, so it was a bargain. Even though he threatened his students he never even touched them, so I was grateful for that much. I walked past him, not daring to even take a glimpse at him and walked into the classroom with a detention slip in my hand. It was the most embarrassing day of my life. I walked into my biggest nightmare. Jakub didn't even bother looking at me. The only person that dared was Jeff, but he was no longer defensive. He put on a welcoming smile as I limped to the seat beside him.
Author's Note: The next chapter will be more about Jeff, Laurie, Emma and Cassie. New characters might come in and it will be the return of the gossiping secretary. This chapter wasn't a lot, but it will take a while before anything else about Jakub will be brought out. Sharon's visions will just be a pinch in every chapter until later. Laurie's got a twist and there will be a couple on behalf of her P.O.V(point of view) Laurie. So keep reading because I need this support . Special Tankies to Laurie ….. Love that girl.
