Unknown Love

Chapter 1

Kathryn was leaning against the railing on the side of the ship. She was waiting for a lady by the name of Ashley. She waited as the other passengers boarded, finally the last person boarded.

The lady walked over to Kath, her blonde hair flying behind her.

"Excuse me, but do you know a girl called Kathryn Stevens?"

Kath smiled at the lady. "I Should, I'm her. You must be Ashley."
Ashley blushed. "I'm sorry. Yes I'm Ashley."
Kath held her hand out. "Nice to meet you, you can call me Kath."
Ashley shook her hand. "You to.'' She looked around. They were the only ones on the outside deck.

Kath looked at her watch. "Hmm…we're running behind schedule," She shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "Oh well, Miss always said I'm never on time."
Ashley looked back at Kath with a smile of her own. "That sounds a lot like my sister." She chuckled.

Kath looked at her. She shook her head and went to speak, but was cut short when her phone rang. The song 'Sexy Bitch' as the ring tone. She looked at Ashley. "You don't mind if I answer that, it's Miss."
Ashley shook her head. "Not at all."
Kath smiled at her and answered her phone. "Hello Miss, what can I do for you?"
'Has Ashley met up with you yet?'

"Yes, she has, I'm with her right now."
'Good, can you bring her to the room a bit further up from mine?'

"I can do that, is it unlocked?"

'Yes, tell her I'll see her soon.'

"Ok. Bye Miss."
'Bye.' She said and hung up.

Kath lowered her phone and shut it. She looked up at Ashley with a sad smile. "Well it looks like I don't get to show you around, but I am to escort you to your room. If you want we can make a detour through the Messhall and grab something to eat."
Ashley smiled back. "That would be lovely."

Kath nodded her head. "If you would kindly follow me, I shall show you how to get in and out of the Messhall in one piece."
Ashley laughed and followed Kath.

After a few minutes of walking, they came to an open area with lots of tables and chairs. Kath walked forward and straight up to the counter, she looked behind her and waved Ashley over.

"What would you like?" Kath asked as she looked at Ashley.

"I'll have a weak coffee."
Kath nodded and ordered. "One weak coffee and the usual, please."

They waited for a minute and got their coffees. Kath carried her coffee in one hand and a doughnut in the other.

"The usual is a coffee and a doughnut. That isn't very healthy." Ashley said as she looked down at the pink iced doughnut.

"I don't eat doughnuts." Kath answered as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Then why do you have it?"
Kath looked at her. "Promise you wont tell?" Ashley nodded. She looked forward. "I get them for miss, she doesn't want people seeing her eating such childish food."
Ashley smiled and had a mouthful of coffee. They walked the rest of the way in a comfortable silence.

When they got there Kath opened the door and held it open for Ashley. They walked in and Ashley sat down in a chair, while Kath leaned on the wall.

Ashley looked Kath over, she was wearing a peach coloured long sleeve, V neck shirt, with deep blue skinny jeans and black ballet flats.

"Are you in grade nine?" She asked.

Kath nodded. "Yes, I'm in grade nine."

"Then how did you end up having to show me around?"
Kath looked at her. "Miss asked me to, her exact words were 'Kathy, can you do me a favor and show Ashley around when she gets here?' When she said favor, I thought she was going to ask me to get her another shirt since I had just spilled my coffee on her."
Everything was silent for a while, but Kath jumped and spilled her coffee on her shirt when she heard someone yell.

Kath put her cup down on the table and pulled her shirt out a bit. "Shit!" she looked up at Ashley. "Can I use your bathroom, this really burns."
Ashley nodded.

Kath smiled and walked to the door on the other side of the room and entered.

There was a knock on the door. Ashley got up and answered it.

On the other side of the door was Miss Redbird.

"Tina, please come in." Ashley said and stepped aside.

"Thank you Ashley." She stepped in and walked over to the table and sat down.

Ashley shut the door and sat down, across from her sister, she was about to speak when there was a scream.

Tina stood up quickly, knocking the chair over.

Kath walked out of the bathroom, clutching her shirt to her chest.
"Kathy?" Tina said confused.

Kath looked up and blinked. Why could she see two of her teacher.

"I'm losing it, I'm seeing double." She mumbled to herself.

Ashley looked at Tina. "She's not wearing her glasses or contacts." Tina answered her unspoken question.

Tina pulled out a pair of half moon glasses from her pocket and gently slid them on Kath's nose.

The world around Kath became clearer. She looked around and blinked, she looked back at her teacher; that was standing in front of her. "Hello Miss, did you get your doughnut?" She asked, forgetting about the burn on her chest.

Tina smiled. "No, not yet. But what I want to know is, why you screamed and why you're holding your shirt so tight to your chest."
Kath tightened her grip on her shirt. "I spilled coffee on myself."
Tina's smile disappeared. "Did you burn yourself?" she asked and put her hands on her shoulders.

Kath nodded but didn't speak.

Tina looked her in the eye. "Where?"

Kath hesitated for a second, before slowly lowering her shirt from her chest. There was a big red patch spreading from one side of her bra to the other.

Tina slowly lowered her eyes to where Kath's hands had been. She moved her right hand from Kath's shoulder and across the burn.

Kath flinched as pain shot across her chest, making it hard to breath.

Tina removed her hand instantly when she felt Kath flinch under her touch. She looked up at Kath. "I'm sorry." Kath nodded "Kathy, you have to tell me where it hurts the most."
"In the middle, it hurts to breath."

Tina nodded and looked back down at the burn. It looked like it had gone under the edges of her bra. She looked back at Kath and gave her an apologetic smile. "Did it go through your bra, Kathy?"

Kath slowly nodded hr head. She could feel the pressure the bra was putting on the burn. Kathryn wandered where this was leading, when she heard someone clear their throat beside them. She looked to her right and saw Ashley.

"Perhaps you should do that somewhere Private. Kath only just met me." She said, looking at Tina.

Tina nodded and straightened. "That probably is the best course of action." She looked back at Kath and saw how much pain she was in just from breathing. "Come on, we'll go to my room, it's closer."
Kath nodded. she looked at Ashley and smiled weakly. "Maybe I can show you around tomorrow."
Ashley smiled back at her. "That would be lovely." She said.

Tina walked over to the door and opened it, she looked out and saw that, their was no one in the hallway. "I'll talk to you later Ashley." Tina said over her shoulder as she guided Kath down the hall to her room.

When they reached Tina's room, Kath was in a lot more pain then before. Tina quickly opened the door and waited for Kath to walk in. She followed and got Kath to lie down on the king size bed.

"Kathy, I'm going to have to see the whole burn."
Kath looked up at her in panic. "Why?"
Tina saw the panicked look on Kath's face. "I have to see how severe the burn is." She said and looked her in the eye.

Kath slowly nodded her consent and put her shirt over her face.

Tina moved her hands to the front of her bra and undid the clasp. She pushed the bra away and gasped as she saw that the coffee had burned across the top of her chest and down between her breasts.

"How bad is it?"
Tina looked up at Kath; her eyes showing that she was still in pain.

"Not as bad as mine was, but still enough to cause you pain when you breathe for a few days."
Kath looked up at Tina. "Yours?"
Tina nodded. "Mine caused me pain, still does, when I breathe. I still have the mark on my stomach from it."
"Was that from me?"
Tina looked down at Kath and smiled softly as she brushed a lock of her hair out of her eyes. "Yes, it was."
Kath sat up, flinching in pain. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spill my coffee on you." She said.

Tina smiled again. "It's ok Kathy, it was an accident, they happen."

Kath nodded her head and looked down at hr chest. She gasped as she saw the red mark going across the top of her breasts. She gently trailed her finger tips over the burn. Pain shot through her, causing tears to pool in her eyes. She looked up at Tina.

Tina saw the tears and moved to sit behind her; she pulled her against her and wrapped her arms around her waist.

She quietly whispered in her ear. "Every thing will be ok. I promise. It'll be fine." She said and kissed her on the temple.

Kath relaxed into Tina's hold and concentrated on her breathing. She listened to her teacher promise that it would be ok, than gasped as she felt Tina kiss her on her temple. She sighed and relaxed further into her hold.

After a few minutes of holding Kath, Tina decided it was time to do something about the bur.

"Kathy?"
Kath moan and rolled her head to the side. "Yes?"

"I have to stop your burn from blistering and for me to do that, I need you to hop into the bath.''

"Why?"

"I need to cool the burn down, it's going to start to burn so, and I don't think you want to go through all that pain."

Kath nodded and leaned forward, letting Tina get up. She slowly swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. She looked down at her open bra. "No point in wearing this." She said to herself. She took the bra off and placed it on top of her shirt. She followed Tina into her bathroom and watched as she filled the bath up with cold water.

Tina turned and looked at Kath. She looked so beautiful with her pale skin and dark hair. Her eyes were the darkest shade of green that twinkled with joy and her lips; her lips were begging to be kissed. She shook her head and turned back to the bath. She turned the tap off and looked back at Kath.

"You need to hop in, now."

Kath looked between Tina and the tub; she slowly undid her jeans and let them fall from her hips, letting Tina see her bright pink leopard print underwear. She kicked her jeans into the side of the bath. She walked around the side and stepped into the freezing cold water, she lowered herself in until she was covered up to her chin. She sucked in a breath through her teeth as the water hit her burn.

Tina smiled weakly down at her. "I know it stings, but it helps." She said as Kath's brushed her fringe out of her eyes.

Kath looked at her. "How long do I have to stay in here for?"

"Twenty minutes at least. I had to stay in for an hour. It warms up after a while." Tina said and stood up. "Would you like anything?"

Kath shook her head. "No thank you, miss."
Tina smiled down at her. "Kathy, you trust me to look after you, I think you can call me Tina, when we're not in class.'' She said and walked out of the bathroom before Kath could answer.

Kath smiled to herself. "Ok, Tina." She whispered and closed her eyes. After a few minutes she was asleep, with her head resting on the edge of the bath.
