CHAPTER ONE

"You're banished!"

Kyasia Remington jumped at the words. With teary eyes she looked up the man who'd she began to hate. His hazel eyes were staring at her in rage.

"But… but… I'm your daughter!" She cried standing closer to her father.

"You're no daughter of mine," He growled slowly.

Even though Kyasia's father was never around or cared at all about her, she still had held the tiniest bit of respect for the man. It probably was just the wolf side of her.

Kyasia was a werewolf. No, not the ones you see in horror movies that have a thirst for human flesh. Nor the ones who transform at full moon and wake up pondering on what happened the previous night. The werewolves of the modern age generally live mostly in society, in huge houses or estates near forests. They're naturally stronger, faster and heal quicker than humans. Usually the shape-shifter has a few wolf traits in their human form too; being protective, cocky and a whole bag full of anger.

Lord Remington, her father, was an extremely powerful man. With around fifty people/shifters under his control (as he was the Alpha wolf), he was seen as a possible threat to the other Lord Alpha's of the world.

Small tears rolled down the girl's cheek. She stood up off the extremely clean floor which she'd been pushed down onto. Kyasia wasn't short for a girl and took after her father's height. Though, at Five foot ten, the top of her golden locks only reached her father's eye height. She summoned her extreme confidence and glared at the man.

"I AM YOUR GOD DAMN DAUGHTER!" She spat. "WHY IN HELL WOULD YOU BANISH ME?"

Her father gave her a lazy half smile. He looked pure evil. His hand brushed the golden hair off Kyasia's face. She cringed a tiny bit and tried to stop herself from grabbing his hand and snapping it. He'd forced her to take countless hours of weapons and battle training, maybe she could put it to use.

"You may have my genes dear girl. But you under estimate my power. If you don't want to join me, then you are worthless!" He roared.

"Join you?" Kyasia scoffed. She was used to him going on about stupid things that would never happen or ever make sense to anyone that didn't have a degree in his thought process.

"Tell me why won't you marry James?" He asked with a bigger grin.

Kyasia opened her mouth gobsmacked. "You're banishing me because I won't marry that bastard?"

It was a stupid thing to say but she couldn't be held for her reaction. Lord Remington smacked her across the face causing her to lose her footing and smash onto the marble floor.

"He alike all men are above you! He especially, is a Lord Alpha Kyasia! Don't you ever disrespect a male shape-shifter again!" He yelled. "Why can't you do something right for once in your life? You are and always have been a waste of space! I wish you were never born!"

Kyasia lay on the floor with pain running out through her body. Even with supernatural genes and strength, she knew she was going to get killer bruises. Her father's yelling had made her feel hopeless inside. He really wished she was never born? He'd never gone that far.

"I'll give you one last chance girl. Marry James of the Heveland pack and I'll forget your disrespectful tantrum," He seethed.

Kyasia gulped. Her thoughts travelled to the bastard who'd technically got her into this mess. Lord James Heveland. She wanted to kill him.

The first time she'd met him she knew she'd hate him forever. For some strange reason, James had a strong fascination with her. He'd always follow her when it came to pack dealings and piss the hell out of her. He'd always try to start a conversation on stupid things like her father talked about. All his opinions that he stated, she'd disagree with. He fricken man-handled her and slapped her even once. She didn't want this. She didn't want anything but to get rid of him.

"Please father," She whispered.

"What's your choice girl? Are you going to be a stubborn b*tch once again?"

She prayed he'd forgive her. She prayed that she wouldn't get banished.

For a shape-shifter to get banished could mean life or death. The Alpha would order the strong wolves, or encase of a royal pack then the guards, to, generally beat one who was banished till they lost consciousness and then put them in a random spot in the world. Wolves couldn't generally live by themselves. Especially females as packs could easily kill or hurt them.

"No!" She cried. "You can't make me."

Lord Remington gave his daughter one last evil glinting smile. "GUARDS!"

Suddenly ten or more shape-shifters with training gear stormed into the room. Their packs shield was sewn onto their shirts and all had swords fastened to their waists. They immediately grabbed the girl who was crying on the floor.

Kyasia could feel their nails digging into her bare skin as they pulled her off the floor. Her whole body ached from the pain of her body beating her. The guards dragged the miserable teen down the hallway with her legs scraping against the floor. They pushed her out of the manor house and down the concrete stairs. Already her legs were bleeding and scraped. A large SUV with heavily tinted windows pulled up in front of them.

But before they chucked her into the vehicle, they turned her around to face her home once more. Kyasia didn't look up at her father and the pack's huge house that was inspired by the 1920's. More footsteps stopped infront of her. Her father's hand grabbed onto his daughters face and pulled it up to look at him.

"Get Andrew out here!" He demanded to the guards who stood behind him.

A boy, a few years younger than Kyasia was dragged outside. She looked up at her cousin with a small smile.

"Kya?" He whispered with saddened eyes. "Alpha? What's going on?"

"Boy, read the rights to her!" Lord Remington demanded.

"What? You're banishing Kya! YOU…" Andy started to question.

"Andy," Kya sighed. "Just give me my rights."

Andy looked at his cousin before getting out the book that he always kept with him. He was in training to be a lawyer like role at the royal pack situated in New York. He was extremely smart for his age and it was noticed. He, like Kyasia had hazel eyes but had orangey brown hair.

"I, Andrew Remington, of Lord Remington the thirds pack, give limited rights to…" He started to speak but stumbled when having to say his cousin's name.

"ANDREW!" His uncle growled.

"To Lady Kyasia Remington, daughter of Lord Remington the third. You have been judged and punished to banishment of the Remington pack and thus must leave the land immediately. For the price of your heavy crime, you will escorted off the grounds and dropped into a location of free land. If you ever step one foot into our land, punishment will be…" He declared but then stumbled again.

"Bloody hell boy!" Lord Remington snapped and grabbed the book off him. "Death. By royal degree, you are now hereby named a rogue werewolf of the world. Good luck daughter!"

With a nod from her father, Kyasia was carried to the car and shoved in for a 'nice' goodbye.

Michael was wide awake when the lone figure emerged into his garden.

Sitting at his kitchen table, drinking cups of summer heated coffee, he seemed to be the only thing awake in the small town. Michael, like usual, wouldn't get to sleep till after two.

He didn't notice the wolf until he smelt the blood. Michael immediately looked out the window and rushed over towards the door. The wolf stood out against the night, like a lighthouse looking over a treacherous shore. It was surprising he didn't hear it coming towards him. He calmly walked over towards the animal until he was a few metres away.

Suddenly, both of them stood in their tracks eyeing each other.

The dark blonde wolf began to change. Its hair disappeared and its four legs turned into two. Its honeycomb coloured eyes stayed the same. In a short five seconds, a girl appeared on his lawn. She looked roughly sixteen or seventeen. She was only a few years older than him. Her long blonde hair was clumped with dirt and what looked to be blood. She had a giant scar running over her shoulder blade. Michael could see the bruises, the cuts and the marks. It looked like someone had tried to kill her.

And there was a bubble around her.

Michael has no idea what it was. It was clear with a tinge of purple. He raised his hand up to it but quickly pulled away. It zapped him!

"Please…" Her strained voice pleaded. "Please help me…"

The bubble disappeared as she collapsed to the floor.

Michael sighed as he looked up at the moon. He hadn't had to deal with another lone werewolf for a couple of years now. They were trouble; running from unexplained pasts that brought enemies with them. But she looked so helpless…

She wasn't safe; even with the power of protection.
