Summary:Miah and Shawn hate each other. So when Miah wakes up in a locked room with him after having been out with her new friend Leon what happens? Tension rises between the two but it turns into more sexual frustration than tension.

"Babe are you going to eat the rest of that?" My lovely boyfriend Rick asked me and I shook my head pushing the baskets of fries towards him. He took the basket and greedily ate the fries and I laughed at him shaking my head.

"What?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I don't really want to go to Carrie's party. I mean do we have to go? Can't we just stay at my place and watch movies like we used to do? I miss when we did that."

"As inviting as that sounds we can't. I promised Carrie and Matt that we would come to this party since we didn't make it to their last one."

Giving in I sighed "Fine. What color are we wearing? I was thinking maybe a dark green or aqua?"

"I was actually thinking orange."

"Yeah, remember I bought that orange shirt last weekend. You can wear your orange backless shirt. It looks hot on you."

I smiled "Well you should drop me off at home so I could get ready."

"Yeah I should, shouldn't I?" He asked smirking moving to get up.

I got up with him grabbing my soda and walking with him out the door of the little restaurant. I climbed into the passenger seat and pulled my phone out as Rick closed his door starting the car.

I called my house phone and my little brother answered "Yes Miah?"

"Where is mom?"

"She's not here. You just missed her."

"She is there. Put her on the phone you idiot."

"She's not here stupid."

"She is there stupid. Put her on the phone."

"You're just like your father. Stupid as a rock."

I growled through my teeth "You little prick."

"Miah that is no way to talk to your brother." My mother spoke into the phone and I gasped.

"He called me stupid—"

"Miah I don't want to hear it. What is it that you need?"

"I just wanted to let you know that I'm on the way. Rick is dropping me off then we're going back out later on to Carrie's."

"Okay well I'll be here."

I rolled my eyes sighing as I put my phone back into my pocket and looked at Rick who was smiling. "What's so funny Rick?"

"You and your brother. I love you guys when you argue."

"Ha ha," I laughed sarcastically "I absolutely love it too."

"Don't be so cruel."

"I'm not being cruel. I'm just being the older sister I should be."

I'm Miah Summers and I hate my little brother Marcus. We have the same mother and she's a single mother because my dad left her and so did my brother's dad. We're a functional family and I still talk to my dad whom I'm not very close to. He doesn't really have time for me because he's always busy somewhere getting drunk.

I'm a senior in high school and I have known my best friend Brooke since fifth grade. I met Rick in freshmen year and we became a couple in our sophomore year.

"I'll be back in about an hour babe." Rick said pulling in my driveway.

"Okay." I said leaning over and pecked his lips quickly "Love you."

"Love you too."

I grabbed my bag and ran to my door and opened it with my keys. I dropped my bag at the door as I took off my shoes.

"Mom! I'm home!" I yelled then ran to my room which was on the second floor.

I took my clothes off throwing them onto the floor with the other clothes I threw down there this morning.

I rambled through my drawers looking for my orange shirt finding it in the very last drawer. I pulled it out and examined it making sure it was clean and wearable. The shirt passed the exam so I pulled it over my head then looked in the mirror. Good.

I looked in my closet for a pair of jeans that I had been looking for this morning but I still couldn't find them. I threw the jeans I had in my hand back in my closet angrily then my door swung open and I jumped covering myself since I was in my panties.

"Calm down it's just me." My mom closing the door behind her.

"Oh thought you were that freak. Have you seen my dark blue jeans with the white stitching on the side?"

"These?" My mom said extending her leg and rubbing the jeans.

"Gosh mom I was going to wear those."

"I could take them off."

"No, it's just fine I'll wear the black ones."

"What's the difference?" She asked once I pulled out the jeans and pulled them up over my thighs.

"Those are dark blue and these are black." I said in a 'duh' tone after fastening them up and fixing my shirt again.

"Okay well I made dinner if you wanted to eat before you left."

"No, but thanks. Rick already fed me." I said in the mirror fixing my hair.

"Okay well let me know when you're leaving."

"Sure." I said wiping the extra eyeliner from under my eyes that start to come off from earlier.

All together I just took off all of the eyeliner since I'm not real big on make up. That's all I wear is eyeliner and only when I feel like putting it on in the morning which is like twice every week.

Slipping my shoes back on my phone rang and I slipped my second shoe on quickly then answered my phone that said Brooke was calling.

"Yes Brooke."

"Hola chica. Cómo estás?"

"I'm fine. What's up?"

"Are you coming to the party?"

"Yeah, Rick and I are going and he's coming to pick me up in a while."

"It's about time you guys came to a party. It's always we're studying together, we already have plans, we're about to have—"

"Shut up Brooke. I get it okay we haven't spent a lot of time with you guys lately but what do you expect? We're not going to the same colleges and it's—"

"I get it, I get it. It's going to be okay."

"Yeah whatever. I'll see you later okay?"

I sighed throwing my phone on my bed then leaving my room. As I was walking down the stairs and tripped because I forgot to tie my shoes up. Yeah that's me.

"You're so stupid."

"No you're stupid."

"You little prick. I'm going to take all your precious little video games and skate around on them as if they were skates then politely return them to you. How would you like that Marcus?"

"How would you like it if I broke all your CDs, ripped up your autographed Drake poster and told mom about your tattoo? You little bitch."

"I am so going to—" I started to lunge for him but then my mom entered the room as if right on cue.

"Mom I—"

"No Miah—"

"No buts. You're always picking on him," she said walking over to him and wrapping her arms around him "Why are you so mean to him?"

"I don't want to hear it. Just apologize to your brother."

"No way."

"Mom, I'm not apologizing to him he's the one that called me stupid first."

"Miah." She said sternly.

I scoffed and started to say something but snapped my mouth shut and started to back up with my hands up shaking my head "Fine Marcus. I'm sorry for threatening your stupid little video games."

"Apology accepted."

I rolled my eyes going back up to room forgetting why I went downstairs in the first place. I pulled my phone out and text Rick that I was ready and he replied that he was on the way.

Sitting back on my bed I ran my hand through my hair as I turned my head and stared at my wall that had a picture on it and a few posters. My eyes played over the picture which was a sketch of me when I was a little girl. I was around ten in the picture and I remembered that because it's when my parents divorced. The worst memories that I have are when we were going through the divorce.

I can remember the arguments so clearly as if they had just happened not even an hour ago. I didn't really know what they were arguing for because just seconds before the explosion we were all playing Monopoly and laughing. It all happened so fast that it should be hard for me to remember but it's so easy because that first argument that I witnessed was when I knew that my parents were getting divorced.

I hate thinking or talking about it because it opens up the old wound that I hate being familiar with. I was a daddy's girl and now I'm not anyone's girl. I'm just a girl. I do miss my dad from time to time but my parents couldn't work it out. My mom blamed it on my dad's drinking and my dad blamed it on my mom's lying.

I didn't understand why they would be mad over little stupid things back then but now it all makes sense in my head. My mom drove my dad to drinking because she started to lie to him. She only started to lie to him because he would constantly question her and accuse her of things she wasn't doing. He only questioned her all the time because my mom cheated on my dad twice and he never really could trust her the way he used to.

So that's why I believe that it is both of their faults. They could've worked it out if they really worked hard enough for it but maybe they just didn't believe that they had anything left to work for. If they would've worked it out then my mom wouldn't have had Marcus and then I wouldn't have anyone to bug all the time. I think Marcus is the only good thing that I got out of my parents divorce; my mom got pregnant with Marcus after the divorce when I was ten. Even though I hate him I love that little kid.

"Miah! Rick is downstairs!" My mom yelled and I could picture her smiling and asking Rick all types of questions like she always does.

I went down the stairs and Rick was there in his orange polo looking hot, as always. I smiled and then looked at my mom who was sort of scowling at me and I rolled my eyes.

"I'll call when I'm on the way." I said making my way for the door.

"Have fun you two." My mom said walking out the door and I rolled my eyes as she stood at the door watching us get into the car.

"She's so creepy sometimes." I said closing my door and leaning back in my seat.

Rick looked over at me smiling and shaking his head. I ignored him and sang along to the music that flowed from the speakers of the car.

Rick and I were about two hours into the party dancing and drinking with our friends. It's our last year we should be able to party hard. Except I didn't drink like I wanted to because I wasn't really in the mood. I wasn't really in the mood for this party or any party at all. I wanted to stay home and watch movies.

I had only had one shot of tequila with Brooke tonight and she urged me to drink more but like I said I wasn't in the mood for partying. Out of all of my friends I think my boyfriend and Brooke party the hardest. They're the ones that always get drunk and they're known for drinking games. Speaking of drinking games that's where Brooke was now being cheered on by a small group of people.

"Hey you want to dance?" Carrie asked yelling a bit so I could hear her.

"No I'm good." I yelled and she nodded her head and then went back in the direction she came from.

It was getting a bit stuffy so I decided to go out on the patio where there was a breeze of wind and a few familiar people. I sat down in a plastic chair and looked out at the stars that were twinkling in the sky and I could feel light pressure against the wound.

One of my parents many arguments were outside on our back porch at our old house. I could hear them yelling at each other at this very second. Just to make sure I looked around me to make sure that they weren't there then pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

I sat on the steps as their yelling voices were just a buzzing noise through my headphones that was blaring. I twirled my finger around the cord of my headphones as I squinted at the sky through tears that blurred my vision making the stars brighter and bigger. I removed one side of the headphones from my ears to hear what they were saying and their voices were lowered.

"I don't care Tony take her. You can keep her I don't want her." My dad said to my mom.

"Fred don't be such an dick about this. You know she would be torn if she knew that you're the one that wants this. You want to tear us apart."

"Because you're driving me crazy. You're tearing me apart and I can't take. I'm willing to do anything to get away from you because you ruined my life Tony."

"Fuck you Fred I didn't ruin your life, you did. You're the one who started drinking. It was your decision you didn't have to drink, you wanted to drink."

"Because of you."

"Your life isn't the only one that's ruined here. I'm going to be a single mom with a daughter that I didn't want. You're the one who made me keep her. You ruined my life because you wanted a kid."

"You're not a single mom. You have plenty of men to help you take care of Miah. And she wasn't a mistake if that's what you're trying to say."

"Why do always have to switch my words—"

I replaced the headphones back to my ears and licked the salty tear that was on my lip and wiped my face dry.

That was the day I decided that I was unwanted and I hated my mother and father. Till this day I don't like them very much but I would pick my father over my mother any day. At least he acted like he cared about me even if he didn't. I cared about him and I loved him. Still do. My mom on the other hand I don't like very much. We get into a lot of argument mainly because Marcus always gets me into trouble because he blames me for everything. I don't think she likes me much either because she definitely favors Marcus over me. It's clear to see that she does because sometimes she knows that Marcus provoked me to yell at him but she'll still take his side.

I don't open up to people easily because I don't know how to. With Rick it took me about three month to completely open up to him but trust me it seemed much longer than three months. I've known Brooke, Carrie and Matt since grammar school so they've opened me up already. Brooke always would tell me that I'm strong because if any other girl would've went through what I've been through they would more than likely be depressed or even suicidal because the girl, like I, felt unwanted and like she was a mistake to her parents and the reason why they're not together today.

"Aw, look at little Miah outside all by herself because her boyfriend doesn't want to dance with her because she isn't pretty." A guy cooed.

I already knew who it was so I didn't turn around "Go fuck yourself Shawn."

"You're more than welcomed to fuck me if your boyfriend doesn't want to. I mean you have a banging body I could—"

"Get a life Shawn."

"Have one. You want help finding one?"

"Shawn why don't you go and find a girl, give her a few drinks and you might just be lucky to get some for the first time in your life, you stupid virgin."

"You're the most immature senior that I know."

"Fuck. You. Shawn."

"Anytime baby."

I ended up getting a ride home with a mutual friend, Kate, last night after the party. I didn't really do much because I was tired and just not in the mood and Shawn downed it even more than it was.

But tonight is Saturday's party and they're my favorite ones. I think I don't like Friday parties because I just came from school and I really just want to go home and go to sleep. But Saturday's are my favorites and I'm definitely partying hard tonight at Craig's party.

I took a morning shower changing into a pair of blue jeans, a grey camisole and a short sleeved white blouse that I didn't button up. I slipped on my gray Mary Jane flats and applied a little lip gloss on my lips before I grabbed my keys.

I went downstairs and my mom wasn't there and I'm guessing my brother is still sleep so I pulled out my phone and text my mom that I was leaving and I would be back a little later.

I drove to the local mall that I always went to The Chicago Ridge Mall. Sighing I got out of the car and walked towards the mall with my wallet and keys in hand.

I turned around because I felt someone behind me but there wasn't anyone there. That always happens to me. I always feel like someone is watching me but there is never anyone there. I think I'm going crazy slowly but surely. I mean what person feels someone but there isn't really a someone behind them?

Walking through the mall slowly looking in stores trying to figure out where I wanted to go first. I'm only here to buy my brother an outfit because his birthday is Tuesday. I think I'll buy him an outfit or two and then buy him a few video games.

I walked into Hollister and searched around for him finding a few things that I knew he would like. I stood in line at the register and I felt someone watching me again so I turned around and this time someone was. Oh god thank you I'm not going crazy.

I felt my lips turn up into a smile but I think I gave this guy the wrong idea because he smiled back at me. I turned back around quickly and luckily it was my turn so the woman rang my things up and I put everything on my credit card.

"Thanks." I smiled at her as I grabbed the two bags and started for the door and I could feel that this guy was following me and I had a feeling that he wasn't going to stop following me so I slowed down just a bit when I was out the door.

"Hey." He said falling into step next to me and I gave him a small "Hi."

I looked at him really good and he was an okay looking guy. Not really my type, but it's not like it matters since I'm already in love with the best guy in the world. Again I found myself smiling and him smiling back at me.

He laughed "You want to go and grab something to eat?"

"Stranger Danger." I said stopping dead in my tracks looking at him weird.

"Oh come on I'm not any danger to you. I'm here to be your friend."

"I don't even know you." I said turning around walking the other way.

"Come on I'm a good person and I just want a friend. I'm new here." He said frowning and I just couldn't say no to those gorgeous brown eyes.

Sighing I turned back to him and stuck my hand out "Miah Summers."

"Leon Jenkins." He said shaking my hand and then he asked "So how does lunch sound? I'll pay."

"Are you really that desperate?"

"I've been here in the mall since they've opened and everyone I have tried to talk to has just looked at me and walked away."

"I don't blame them."

"Come on give me a chance please. I just want at least one friend. I promised my mom that I would do that."

"I'm not doing this for you; I'm doing it for your poor mother."

"My mother isn't poor."

"I didn't mean it like—"

He laughed "I know, I know. To the food court."

God is the guy weird. Why am I really eating lunch with this guy?

After we ordered and found a table we started to eat and talk.

"So where are you from?"

"New Hampshire."

"Oh really? What's it like there?"

"It's… boring. The town I'm from was really populated of old people. I had a few friends there but it wasn't anything interesting."

"What brought you and your family to Chicago?" I asked eating a fry.

"Well it is one of the coolest cities in the U.S. And my mom found the perfect dream home so I couldn't really say no."

"How about your dad? Did he have any say in the move?"

"Yeah and he wanted to come here too."

"I hope you know that Chicago isn't all as it seems. I've lived here my whole life and it's not all as people make it out to be."

"Well I've been having a good time ever since I've gotten here so I'm against that."

"You'll see what I mean in a year or two."

"Were you in the Great Chicago Fire?"

"Does it look like I was born in eighteen seventy one?" I asked trying to hold in my laughter.

"You could be a vampire."

"I was born in nineteen ninety two."

"You're seventeen?"

"I'll be eighteen in July."

"Mine was March twenty fourth."

'That was Wednesday? Happy belated birthday Leon."

"You're eighteen?"

"So I'm your only sort of friend, huh?"

"Well there is this party tonight and I know there are going to be a lot of people there so if you wanted to stop by I could maybe introduce you to a few people. Like my friends and my boyfriend."

"You have a boyfriend?"

"Yeah," I sighed "Guess you're out of luck, huh?"

"Nope, wasn't interested."

"I don't know how I should take that." I said looking at him carefully and he laughed.

"I didn't mean for it to offend you in any way. I meant it in the nicest way possible."

"Okay cool so you want to check it out or what? I guarantee you'll have fun."

"Where is it at?"

"Are you going to come?"

"If I know where it's at."

I ripped a piece of paper from my receipt and pulled a pen out of my wallet and wrote down the address giving it to him. I stood up grabbing my bags and smiled at him "Be a good friend and throw away my things. You should really come to the party."

"I'll think about it."

"See you around Leon."

"Bye Miah."

Once I was out the door I stopped in my tracks and thought about what I just did. I just invited a practical stranger to a party. I don't even know this guy. What if he's a rapist or something? It's not like he can really rape me if I'm going to be dancing all night with Rick. Well since I can drink tonight…

No way, I'm just being stupid. Leon isn't a rapist.

"Are you okay ma'am?" A man asked me and I snapped my head up to him and smiled.

"I'm just fine." I said and walked to my car throwing the bags in my trunk then driving home.

I walked through the front door and my mom yelled "Miah, come here."

Rolling my eyes I walked to the dining room area where my mom was sitting at the table with her glasses on reading a letter.

"What is this?" She asked throwing the paper at me.

I read over the letter from the school and scoffed. Basically the letter said that I'm missing a credit and I might not be able to graduate on time and I'm going to have to go to night school to make up the credit in order to graduate on time.

"Mom you know I've been passing all my classes. I have no clue what they're talking about."

"You better go to night school Miah. I'm not kidding with you. If you don't graduate on time… just know that your little ass is mine."

I folded the letter up and took it with me to my room throwing it on the floor. I slammed my door and fell backwards onto my bed and ended up falling to the floor.

My life blows.
