Gone
A Poem of Betrayal
by Purple Snowstorm
I knew this day was coming
I didn't want to know
I knew she was going to do this
And now she's gone.
She went for her other friend
She turned to the dark side
She went away from her twin
And now she's gone.
She turned away from us
I turned her back around
She faced her other friend again
And now she's gone.
Her other friend changed her ways
I tried to change her back
She changed them again
And now she's gone.
She's on the other side now
Away from me and her true friends
Away from those who truly care about her
And now she's gone.
Like a leaf in the breeze
You can catch it for a while
But soon it blows away again
And now she's gone.
Away from common sense
Away from any logic
Apparently too good for rules
And now she's gone.
She walked away willingly
She turned her back on us
She left her instinct with her twin
And now she's gone.
She completely left.
We don't want to believe it.
But we have to, otherwise...
...we'll never accept that she's gone.
