The Life Changing Decision 08/07/09
I stand in front of this man
I still have no set plan
My palms are getting sweaty
I do not know if I am ready
My knees grow weak where I stand
I hold a life changing decision in my hand
Shall I choose this or should I choose that?
My mind firing with the sound of a gat
I fumble to find the words
Like the flittering of the wings of hummingbirds
Then my eyes settle on what had to be
The perfect choice made for me
"I'll have a chocolate malt ball please"
My mind finally at ease
The clerk smiles and says, "That'll be five cents"
Then the chocolate malt ball he presents
I walk away with my candy in hand
The feeling I had, it was so grand
I will never forget that day in 64'
That I made my first visit to the candy store
