43Chapter 1: All Hail The Heart Breakers
"Mr. Miles do NOT sleep during my class! If you aren't getting enough sleep sort it out at home not in MY class!" My eyes snap open to see a red faced Mrs Lane.
"Err...Sorry...Had a late night..." I mumble sleepily rubbing my eyes.
"I said I don't care Miles pay attention." She screeched slamming her hands on my table shocking me awake.
Bitch.
When she turns to walk away I slip my IPod out of my pocket and scroll down to my favourite song list. I scan over the names until I reach my favourite song 'Track 01' I hit play and the music quietly flows into my ears. At the end of class I'm far too eager to leave the room practically flying out the door.
"HEY!" I jump at the sudden greeting. "huh? Oh hey May." It's just May thank god, I thought it was Mrs Lane Seeking her Revenge.
"So any way I thought you'd like to meet him."
"Eh? Sorry what, Who?"
"Gee~ you don't listen do you!" May says waving her arms in the air.
"Sorry" I mumble looking down. Hey there's paper on my shoes...
"AS I WAS SAYING!" May shouts loudly and slowly making everyone look at us. I blush a little before turning to face my locker.
"Shut the heck up May." I say in a low growl.
She ignores me as always. "So anyway I don't think you've met my brother. I'm sure you'd get along."
A brother you say?
...
"Uh yeah sure what ever." I say locking my locker.
"Great, how about Lunch then?" I just shrug lugging my Black Yoshi bag over my shoulder. "Let's go eat I'm starved."
May and I walk over to the cafeteria where May is instantly flooded by random guys and jocks attempting to flirt with her. I kinda feel sorry for them as she swats them away like flies.
"So any way my brothers' name is Luke."
Hmmm Luke sounds nice.
"He hangs out with the jocks." I groan and roll my eyes.
Jocks and Me are never a good thing. I'm not popular. But I hang out with May. She's one of the hottest girls at school guys' line up, even pay to talk to her. But she'd rather hang out with me than those artificial Bitches. So of course the Jocks would hate me even some of those plastic girls.
"Don't be like that, He's not like other jocks." She says with a smile plastered on her face. I sigh looking towards the jock table. Most of them were over here giving assortments of presents to May as she picked at her salad. The rest of them were either staring lovingly at her or jealously watching.
"So which one's your brother?" I ask eagerly.
"Naw I knew you'd come around." She said sweetly while rubbing my arm.
"Shut up! I was just wondering." I snap
"Well he's that one getting food." She mumbles something else about him being fat and always eating. I scan the cafeteria line for a jock like figure it takes me a while which makes May impatient.
"Gosh he's right there!" May snaps grabbing my chin facing me in the direction of a tall brownie blond haired boy. He turns around stabbing his food with his fork when he looks up to see his sister with her hands on the chin of some boy with his cheek pressed against hers.
..oh no...
He snaps the small plastic fork in his hand. I gulp loudly as May removes her now shaky hand from my face.
"Oh no..." she says not taking her eyes off her brother.
Oh no what?
He looks ready to kill. His face is going red with rage. His fists are clenched so tight their white. All the oogling boys have left the table.
I feel myself shaking "What the hell May? He's going to kill me." I say quietly.
"Don't worry I'll talk to him." She says calmly standing and walking towards her brother.
I sit nervously shifting in my seat as May whispered to her brother.
"Why the hell were you sitting so close to him!? And your cheeks where touching too!" He snaps breaking the awkward silence. May whispers a few more things looking angry as she does. Her brother looks at me again and with one last glare he storms off to the jock table. May came back sitting a little further away from me. We didn't say anything for the rest of Lunch.
"Ummm I'll just get something from my locker then I'll meet you at the car." I turn down the almost empty hall towards my locker. When May calls back a quick 'hurry up then,' I pull out my math book and put it in my Yoshi bag. Stupid math tests.
I close my locker making sure it's locked only to be trapped between it and a foreign body when a heavy force pushes me against my locker
No! I'm too young to die!
The weight Lifts and I make the mistake of turning around.
Man I wish I hadn't. My eyes meet Dark Green eyes.
So beautiful but frightening at the same time.
I feel his fist connect with my stomach, winding me.
"If you ever touch my sister again" The figure above me leans down till I can feel his breath on my ear as he calmly whispers.
"I'll kill you."
I gulp. My shaky voice barely audible as I reply "...yeah..."
She's the one that touched me!
He yanks me to my feet I cough trying not to look like a wimp but the pain in my gut is to strong. I fall to the ground whimpering as I hit the linoleum floor. Luke looks back at me with a mocking sympathetic look
"Aw did dat hurt~"
Bastard.
He grabs my arm again so I close my eyes bracing myself for a hard tug.
"Oh my gosh! Are you ok?"
"Yeah the Idiot fell down."
I open my eyes to see May running over to help me up while her brother gently held my arm.
"Hey! I-" My attempts to protest against Luke's statement are stoped when he clenches his fist and yanks me up casually saying 'up we go' he still has a bear like grip on my arm when May asks "What were you going to say?"
"Umm I was going to say I'm not an idiot." I punch Luke's arm playfully. He releases my arm and I let out a sigh of relief. Then May gives me a hug which makes Luke glare at me as if he's willing a hole in my head from his glare.
Bitch.
"Let's get going then." Luke says smacking me on the back really freckin' hard.
I cough harshly due to the impact.
"Excuse me?"
I question after my mini coughing fit.
"I wanted to introduce you to him coz he's coming with us." May chimes happily.
I'd rather walk. Great he's glaring at me again.
"Great." I say picking up my Yoshi bag.
"Great Lets go!" May pipes hooking our arms in a loop. I Look down at my shoes while May leads us along.
Hey that papers still on my shoe.
When we finally reach my crappy excuse for a car May unhooks our arms leaving me to stand next to her overprotective brother. I inch away from him I think he finds my reaction amusing because he chuckles under his breath.
God I should just crash the car and end my suffering.
"I bags the front." May says skipping to the front seat.
"Why are you so cheery?" I ask grumpily.
Yeah I'm Grumpy deal with it.
"Well you to are getting along." She says grasping the door handle
Yeah right a lion and a Lamb would get along better.
"May get in the back!"
"Huh? Why? Luke you get in the back!"
"I don't want this retard to crash and kill you."
I find that offensive. I'm not that bad at driving. Right?
"You're such an ass sometime." May grumbles while moving to the back seat.
"Love you to May." He says with a grin.
Gag.
I slip comfortably into the front seat but Luke on the other hand has to move the seat back coz he's so fat.
...
I lied, he's not fat. He's actually really well toned not overly muscular like those other scary Jocks. But he's not a twig like me…
"Dude drive!" Luke says harshly pushing my arm.
"I will so shut up!" I snap moving my arm away.
"Is he gonna space out while he's driving?" Luke asks looking over his seat so he can face May.
"No! Gosh I'm not that bad!" I look in the review mirror hopping that May will back me up.
Nope.
She just shrugs and buckles herself up in the middle with all three seat belts.
She looks up into the review mirror and smiles at me.
Bitch. Why am I friends with such a bitch?
I resist the childish urge to poke my tongue out at her.
I pull out of our schools parking lot smoothly then hit the curve on the first turn...
"What are your intentions towards my sister?" I can feel Luke's cold stare.
"What the hell Luke!" May shouts from the back seat. "I told you to drop it!"
"I'm trying to protect you!" He snaps swinging around in his chair so he can face May again.
What does he think I'm some Serial rapist?
"Look nothing's going on between us!" Yeah Mays right coz I'm gay and girls are icky.
"How can I be sure?"
"Because he's..."
"He's what?"
"Never mind!" Aw Sweet little May is so angry but she'll still keep my Secret from slipping out.
"He has a girlfriend?" Luke says sarcastically.
"Eew no gross." Oops did that just slip out?
Luke pauses and gives me a weird look like 'Omg did he just say eew girls' look.
"Um, I uh, I don't like any of the girl at school." I say nervously turning the corner. But it is true I don't like any girls at school in that way, But boys...now that's another story.
"Really, and I'm meant to believe that? Maybe you don't like any of the other girls at school because you like my sister." His glare intensifies and I'm really starting to get sick of this.
"Look, I don't like your sister anymore then I would a friend and if you don't want to believe that then learn to deal with it. If you're still not happy then whatever." I pull up to Mays house and put my car into park.
Awkward silence falls as May shifts in her seat.
"Are you gonna to get out?" My patience is running thin and I really want them out of my car.
"May, you go ahead. I'll meet up with you in a bit." Luke says gesturing for May to get out.
May gives Luke a weary look before getting out of the car and making her way up their stone path to their house.
She looks back at Luke one final time before walking in.
Luke slams his hand into my throat the instant May is inside the house before he harshly whispers into my ear. "Unless you have some great reason for why I should believe you, stay the fuck away from my sister."
My patience? Gone.
"Dude, shut the fuck up! I told you I don't like your sister that way so get the fuck over it! You want hard evidence?! Then I'll tell you one thing before I kick you the fuck out of my car." He snorts when I tell him that I'd kick him out of the car. "I'm gay ok?! I like men! M-E-N! Fag central over here, got it?!"
Luke's eyes widen as he hastily removes his hand from my throat.
"You're gay?" He asks giving me a strange look.
"Yes, you bastard,so leave me the fuck alone and get out of my fucking car!"
Luke has a sort of guilty look on his face as he slowly leaves my car.
Good. I hope he feels guilty for accusing a gay guy for wanting to hit on his sister.
"Um, see you tomorrow..." He mumbles.
I don't say anything, instead opting to just speed down the street to try to get as far away as I can. I don't care if I get a fine.
When I get home, I storm into my room and throw my Yoshi bag onto my bed and sit on the edge of it. I sit there for a few minutes before deciding to call Mossy.
"Hullo?" Mossy sounds like he has a blocked nose. Eeeww.
"Hey."
"Who's dis?" he asks while sniffing harshly.
"It's me." I say while kicking off my shoes.
There's a long pause and I feel insulted. One cold and he's forgotten who I am.
"It's me! Sam! Sam Miles! Y'know, your best friend!" Gosh, stupid delusional sick person.
"Yeah, I knew that..." he coughs harshly and I cringe. I hate sick people.
"Ben's meant to be back from his ski trip tomorrow."
"Really? How do you know?"
"Facebook." Of course, when isn't he on facebook?
"So should I pick him up for school tomorrow?"
"Hold on... Yeah."
We continue talking for about 30 more minutes, whenever we make a joke Mossy goes into coughing fits which are both equally frightening and hilarious.
"So, see you a school tomorrow. Or are you taking another sick day?" I ask while sinking back into my bed.
"Yeah, I'll be there so calm down." He sniffs harshly once again before hanging up.
I sleepily rub my eyes and lay in the dark waiting for sweet sleep to lull me away.
