Teaching You A Lesson;

Skye's P.O.V

What was I doing here watching an ultra crappy drama show? I mean, I hate these things. Like I said before: it's crap.

Oh, right. Annabelle.

After a huge break up with lover-boy, she was completely and utterly broken. So, to cheer her up we made sure he wouldn't be able to reproduce anytime soon, if you know what I mean.

Nawh, just kidding. We didn't do that to cheer her up; we did it for revenge.

But, in order to cheer her up, we're watching this drama right now, with tubs of ice cream and bags of microwave popcorn. If it wasn't for the ice cream - and Annabelle, of course - I would've high-tailed it out of here long ago. I assure you.

"I thought you were dead!" the actress gasped, over-dramatically. The boy that had died only an hour ago has graced us with his appearance again. He looked exactly the same as before too; he had his blonde hair gelled back, with a black tuxedo hung loosely over his lean figure, and an untied grey tie.

"Glad we're on the same page here, missy," Sarah mumbled, grabbing a handful of popcorn.

I grabbed a handful myself. "Wabint 'e -" I tried to say around the food in my mouth, but was cut off by Sarah.

"Swallow..." she said, rolling her bright green eyes.

I gulped down the food. "- Dead. Wasn't he dead?"

"Well, apparently he pulled a Jesus." Sarah and I burst out laughing.

From below us, on the floor, Annabelle yelled at us to shut up. So, we did the exact opposite - laugh louder.

She turned around to glare at us, tears in her eyes. Okay, shutting now. She smiled slightly at the new silence and went back to the TV.

Now the actor was begging for the actress to forgive him, to take him back.

"Oh, Alan. Of course I will! I love you so!" she said, before jumping into his out-stretched arms.

Sarah gasped. "I did NOT see that coming!"

"You're right! Wow, who would've thought?" I gasped too, rolling my own blue eyes.

We both fell into a fit of giggles.

"Now, now, Skye. You must be mature about this. Take me for example," Sarah preached.

"Look who's talking!" I said, just as Sarah went to throw popcorn into her mouth. Lemme tell ya, not one accomplished it's mission.

"Touché." Sarah looked around herself, where she was surrounded by popcorn. We both laughed.

"Oh, will you two shut up?" Annabelle burst out, "He's declaring his love for her."

And the actor was doing just that. Now the young couple shared a passionate - and rather disturbing - kiss that only made Annabelle cry her eyes out.

"I don't think these movies are doing any good."

"You said it." I threw over a box of Kleenex to Annabelle, which ended up colliding with her head. Without a word, she pulled out a bunch and began blowing her nose.

I sighed. This is going to be a long weekend.

Sarah's P.O.V

Throughout the entire weekend, we watched fifteen drama shows. Fifteen!

But, I guess it was worth while. By Sunday, she didn't even utter his name. Which is progress. Major progress.

"Ehh, you placed second Anne," Skye said, mystified. We were trying to look over the crowd to see our final exam scores. Sadly though, only Skye could see past half of these heads.

"She didn't place in first? Who beat -" I began, before Skye shot me a dirty look. If looks could kill, I'd be out cold right now...

"AHAHA! I only placed in twenty-fifth. Even Sarah beat me!" Skye said, trying to change the subject.

"AHAHAHA - HEY! Why is that so surprising?" I huffed.

Annabelle sighed. "You guys are so exhausting sometimes. I know Dyl-" I stomped on her foot before she could continue.

"OUCH! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Annabelle screamed, hushing the bystanders into silence.

I gave her the most angelic look I could muster. "Sorry...foot slipped?"

Annabelle smirked. "Ten second head start, sweetie."

"That's hardly fair!" One step back.

"Ten...nine..."

"Anne, you know I love you!" Another.

"Eight...seven...six..."

"Come on Anne! It couldn't have hurt that badly." And another.

"Five...four...three..." Her smile stretched wider and wider.

I gulped, yelled "bye" over my shoulder and dashed out of there.

"Two...and ONE!"

In no time at all, she was right behind me, with Skye falling behind. I continued to run, urging my feet to move faster, but it was no use. She won first in track for a reason, after all. Soon enough, I found myself flat on the ground with Anne on my back. Can you say, "OWWW!"

"Anne, believe it or not, but you're heavy," I muttered.

"Excuse me?" Annabelle gasped, playing hurt. She rolled off my back, and sat on her knees. "Saraah, you're going to have to be punished noow!" she sang.

Oh, God no. I looked over at Skye, mouthing the words, "help me." All I got in response was laughter. In fact, she was rolling on the ground laughing.

"Some help you are," I mumbled under my breath.

Annabelle decided then to take her chance to pounce. She was tickling my tummy, my sides, my arms - anything she could get a hold of. I was rolling around on the ground, trying to create distance between us. When that didn't work, I tried pushing her hands away.

"Stop! Stop!" I gasped. Tears of laughter were streaming down my eyes at this point, and my stomach was aching.

"Who's the greatest person in the whole wide world?" she cooed.

I will not give in; I will not!

"Okay! You are!" I didn't even know who said the words until she stopped. So much for not giving in...

I was trying to catch my breath, while Anne and Skye were doubled over in laughter. After a moment or two, I joined them.

"Thanks girls," Annabelle said once she had sobered up.

Skye and I glanced at each other, eyebrows raised. We turned to look at Annabelle and asked, "For what?"

"You know...for the distraction." Her smile only faltered a little bit.

"I know of no such thing. Do you, Skye?" I asked, feigning innocence.

"I think she's lost her mind," Skye responded, severely. She shook her head to add emphasis.

Annabelle smacked us playfully on the shoulder. And the laughter continued...

Annabelle's P.O.V

GAH! I am going to kill those two!

For some reason - that is completely beyond me - they have found the sudden need to scream or slap me, all week long. I have bruises with their fingerprints, for crying out loud! This is definitely not normal behaviour.

I continued to stomp down the hallway, my vision slightly red at the moment. I didn't even notice the boy that was headed my way until I crashed right into him.

"Ouch! Oh, I'm so sorry!" I looked up, and my breath caught in my throat. Oh, no. Why him of all people?

"It's okay. I should've watched where I was going." He smiled at me, and set me back on my feet. "So...where are your friends?" He asked...nervously?

"They're outside. Garbage duty."

"Oh, yeah? Well...uhm...can I have a word with you, then?"

No, no, no. "Sure."

I followed him into an empty classroom, where he shut the door behind me. He turned around and looked straight into my eyes.

"Anne, I've been a real jerk. I didn't realize how much I loved you until I let you go. Baby, can you come back to me? Please?" he plead, taking one of my hands into his own.

"I- I-" I was what? I couldn't think of any words. Did I want him back? Are his words sincere? Why did it take him a week to realize his mistake? Questions floated around my head, but none - to my dismay - found answers.

In one fluid movement, he cupped my face in both of his hands and pressed his lips onto mine. But, the kiss wasn't sweet or gentle like I remembered them to be. This time, it was forceful and aggressive...and just plain gross.

Before he could turn the kiss into something else, I placed my hands onto his toned chest and pushed him away with all my might. Glaring, I wiped my mouth with the back of my sleeve.

"No."

"But, baby -"

"Stop that! After all the tears I wasted on you...you can't just waltz back into my life! It doesn't work like that." Taking a step back, I shook my head. "I'm sorry, but I...I can't take you back. I won't," I added, whispering.

CRASH!

Pain shot through my spine, all the way up into my skull. I found myself with my back flat against the wall and looking straight into furious dark brown eyes. He had both my arms pinned up above me, and his face was inches away from my own. "Baby, I asked politely, but now you've left me with no choice. I'm going to have to use force."

He tightened his grip on my wrist, which made me scream in protest.

"Yeah, well I guess we're going have to use force too."

Two girls brought back their fists and swung them forward into his gut, which sent Dylan crashing into the floor. I slid down the wall until I was on the floor too.

The taller of the two girls picked Dylan up by the collar. With a smirk, she swung her fist forward and hit him square in the jaw. Blood dripped out of his mouth. The other girl, with a clenched fist, brought it back and -

"Skye! Sarah! Stop!"

Skye released her grip on Dylan's collar.

"Run," she whispered, menacingly.

He spat blood out of his mouth, glared, and ran out of the room. Meanwhile, Sarah let her arm drop back to her side again.

"What is wrong with you two? You could've killed him!" I shrieked.

"Are you okay, though? He didn't hurt you, did he?" Sarah asked, kneeling in front of me.

"My head hurts a little bit...but that's not the point. You could've killed him!"

"He deserved it though," Skye argued, crossing her arms against her chest.

And then it hit me.

"You guys got in trouble for beating him up didn't you? That's what the garbage duty was for, and that's why he sounded nervous when he asked where you two were!" I exclaimed, looking between them both for affirmation.

They both laughed. "He was scared of us? Two girls? What happened to his 'manly pride'?!"

"It disappeared when we won the fight, remember?"

"You two are terrible! You could've gone to jail if he had died or something!"

"Nawh, don't worry about it," Skye said, waving her hand in dismissal.

"Yeah," Sarah said, "it was for you anyway."

"For me?"

"Mhmm. We wanted to teach that bastard a lesson for playing with your heart."

If they used violence to make me feel better...then does that also mean...?

Tears filled my eyes. "And, all those slaps to the arm, and the screaming? That was to keep my mind off him, right? To cheer me up?" I asked, my voice cracking near the end.

"Hey, hey! Don't cry!" Sarah pulled me in for a hug. Skye soon followed her example.

Now I was full out sobbing. They're such idiots! Getting themselves in trouble for me. "You two are so stupid!" I said, voicing my thoughts.

"You love us for it, though," Skye said, winking.

At this point, I felt terrible. They did so much for me, and how did I repay them? By wanting to kill them! Some friend I am.

"I'm so sorry."

"What for?" Skye raised one eyebrow.

I opened my mouth to respond but then Sarah cut me off.

"Don't answer that."

I regained my composure and pulled apart from them, letting them see the wide grin on my face. "Thank you so much, you guys. You're honestly the greatest friends a girl could have." I wrapped my arms around them again, pulling them in for a group hug.

"Oh, we know."

"You're pretty damn fine yourself, girl."

I don't know how long we sat there, laughing and hugging, but in that moment I realized I couldn't have asked for a greater pair of friends. In their own - I'll admit, strange - way they were always there for me. Laughing, I said, "Thank you."

THE END.

NOTE FROM MOI:
Oh my gosh. You do not understand how much I hate the ending! It just wouldn't come out the way I wanted it to. And, this isn't going the way I want to either! D:
Ahah, while I was reading this for the final editing, I realized, like, four things: a.) they laugh SO much b.) Skye & Sarah have very boyish attitudes c.) it's so beyond rushed and d.) Dylan was practically singing Come Back To Me. :')
But, anywaays, I'm actually happy with the outcome. It turned out sorta good, right? :)
Sooooooo, if you wanna make a girl happy, you can always send a review over, eh? ;)
