Empty Room

The dull glow of shadows

From brought down posters.

Bed that stood

Fluffed from awakenings,

Gone, replaced with nothing.

Bookshelf marked with fingerprints,

Hands that touched them

Reaching for

Stories and

Imperfect lives,

Vanished.

Pictures reflecting

Love, hate, sadness, greatness

Put away in boxes

Replaced with empty white wallpaper.

Tracks of warmth

Drawn deep into the flooring

Is brushed out

With a grim smile.
