A/N: Hey this is just a new story that I wanted to try out...only the second I have written and the first is on hiatus because I'm not sure if many people are interested in it and it's hard to continue something without an incentive. I have about the first 6 chapters written for this and I will post them, but from there I'll continue based off of the interest that I see in the story. If you like it review and let me know or I won't continue it! This is just the prologue so it's shorter than the regular chapters. Let me know what you think and how you think I can improve!

Prologue

The gust of wind blew across the rooftop, swirling my long wavy blue-black hair around my face as I watched the streets; my teal eyes, which signified royal bloodlines, were focused on every movement in the mayhem below. The club was especially busy tonight which made the street even more hectic. Despite that, I could see every detail about the club goers waiting to enter Entice. I could tell which ones were itching for a hit by the slightest twitch in their movements and the anticipation placed across their faces. It never was very hard to tell the addicts from the innocents. Innocents always were more relaxed and hyped up on a different form of excitement; they did not know the world they were ignorantly walking into until it presented itself to them head on. I was never a part of either of the two. No I never was able to have the choice that humanity seems to take for granted. The choice of if they wanted to live their lives in obliviousness or bear witness to the dealings of the night. For that fact I both envy and sympathize for them. One thing in my world is for certain, I am aware of all of the horrors that our worlds have to offer and I am immensely glad for that. If I didn't know then I wouldn't have the life that I love; the life that enables me to revel in my huntress tendencies and try to defend those who can't defend themselves. I am no saint, far from it, but no matter how much I tell myself that I wouldn't do this job if I didn't get the thrill from it that I did, I can't deny the fact that every time I destroy my target and save a few lives that my heart seems a little lighter.

It makes my deception worth it. If the council found out what my father guided me to do they would be appalled. The daughter of the ruling vampire family should never be a fighter. Instead, I am supposed to sit in the security of my luxurious home and leave the fighting to the vampires whose lives aren't in succession for the leadership. Luckily my father thought this was crap. He knew that as the strongest bloodline, therefore the strongest vampires, no one in our family needs others to protect us. We are the ones who needed to help others who weren't nearly as strong. We needed to protect our way of life. He knew this better than anyone so he set up the job of an enforcer and had me take over. No one was to know the identity of the enforcer besides my father and me. The council and the vampire population only knew the enforcer by the name of Darkness and the rumors were enough to create enough fear to keep most vampires in line. That is why I was standing on a 10 story high apartment building looking down onto the well known vampire club, Entice. I was looking for the target that was delegated as a dangerous rogue; the target that I instinctly knew was in the limo that just pulled up to the entrance.

All of my senses were on high alert when he stepped out of the car. I was automatically deciphering all of the strengths and weaknesses that he tried to hide. As he glanced in my direction I did not even waver knowing that I was well hidden within the shadows. He had no clue I was here, no clue Darkness was coming for him. He arrogantly strode past the entrance line and didn't even glance at the humans or the bouncers as though he was so much better than them before entering the flashing lights of the club. After the last couple of vampires in his party past the entrance I took a second to glamour my looks with the magic endowed to me by my parentage before diving off of the building. As the wind was rushing past my face the adrenaline was just the beginning of the rush I was going to get that night. After falling head first for 9 floors I abruptly flipped and landed in a crouch on the asphalt. I didn't even break a heel. I straightened and sauntered after my target into the club. Now is when the real fun begins.
