So to recap:

As I walked out into the hallway, I reached into my bag for my phone so I could call Molly and tell her I'd be a bit late home today. She wouldn't like it, but this is my life here, not hers.

It wasn't there.

Fuck. No, no no, this was not happening. I threw my bag down onto a bench and ripped the zip open, looking frantically for that stupid phone. It wasn't in there. Fuck.

I had lost my phone.

"You ok sweetie?" Megan asked as I walked out of school.

"Nope." I answered bluntly. I had a habit of being very…dull when I was panicking. And I was sweating all over. A cold sweat, mind you, not the type you get from running a kilometre in 5 minutes. Was that even humanly possible? I didn't know, and didn't want to find out.

"So what happened?"

"I lost my phone," I groaned, leaning my crossed my arms on the table.

"'re not even swearing…it's thatbad?"

"YES! It's my phone, which has all my private messages, and it's basically my life. I can't live without my phone!"

"Or your iPod, or your laptop, or your money, or your mints, or your – "

"Yeah I get it Megs…" I buried my head into my arms. "What am I going to do?" It was muffled, so it probably came out as something retarded…

"Well I'm sure someone will find it -"

"No one can find it! If they find it, they'll see all my messages to –" I stopped myself. Damn, that was close.

"To…? To who?" Megs prodded.

"Uh…everyone…yeah." I told you I was a bad liar…

"Sure. Whatever."

"What? No 'Omigodtellmetellme!'?" I asked, imitating the way she usually squealed.

She shrugged, so I decided to leave it.

"I'll call later, yeah?"

Now I had to find some way to locate my phone…

I chewed my lip as I stood at the front of the school, waiting for whoever wanted me to be there. They better not have forgotten, because it was starting to get cold, and I hadn't brought my jumper today. Stupid, I know, but that's just me.

Honestly, I felt like a loser, staying back at school on a Friday afternoon. Just imagine how bad it would be if the secret person didn't even show up. That'd be just embarrassing. But then...Megs once told me I never got embarrassed, since I had no dignity…I still don't know if that's a good thing or not...

Five more minutes passed and still no sign of mystery person. And I didn't just say that because it felt like 5 minutes – it actually was, because I checked my iPod. I would check my phone if I had it, but I didn't. How convenient.

"Argh," I groaned, grabbing my bag off the floor. "That's it!"

I looked around; to check if anyone was around, listening. They'd probably think I was some psycho, talking to myself.

You would think a mother would ask you questions like 'how was school?' but the moment I walked through the front door, I was greeted with: 'Why are you home so late? And why didn't you pick up your phone when I called? Why didn't you call me back?'

"I lost my phone, and I'm late because I went looking for it." So it wasn't the complete truth, but what she doesn't know won't hurt her, right? If I told her, she'd just rant on about how evil boys are. And I've heard that lecture enough times I could recite it word for word. It was exactly the same every single time.

Molly gave me a why-is-my-daughter-so-stupid look, sighed, and went back to whatever she was doing. I trudged upstairs into my room and dumped my bag in the corner, rummaging through my drawers for fresh clothes, and stepped into the shower.

After my well deserved hot shower, I switched my laptop on, ready to get rid of all my assignments. Unfortunately, I had set Facebook as my home page, which distracted me alot. Smart move, I know.

'You have 1 new notification.' The little red thing said. I clicked it open, and found it was a wall post from Luke.

'Did you end up meeting me? Because I texted you not to…well, I hope you got it, otherwise…well, I'm sorry."

I glowered at the screen and sighed. Well, I couldn't really do anything about that, because he had no idea I had lost my phone. Oh how my life sucked. I replied by posting on his wall and telling him about how I lost my phone and how I had completely forgotten to meet him anyway. It was a lie, but whatever.

Suddenly not in the mood for homework, I decided to sleep and do homework after dinner.

I stared at my locker on Monday morning, unsure of whether I should pick up the note or not. Maybe it would have the person's DNA or fingerprint on it, and if I touched it, it would contaminate the evidence. Fuck it.

I ripped the yellow sticky note off my locker, examining the handwriting, to see if I could recognise it. I sighed dejectedly. There was no hope.

'I have your phone,' the note read. Well thanks for the heads up buddy, but it might help if you put your god-damn name on the note or something. Son of a bitch.

"What's got your panties in a twist?"

"Fuck off Luke I don't want to see your face,"

"Aww don't be like that. Come on. Tell."

Wordlessly I threw the note in his face and stalked off to period 1, hoping to ditch him, which would've worked if he didn't have period 1 with me.

"Ok so what are you gonna do now?" he asked, catching up to me without even trying. Damn him and his long legs.

I ignored him.

"You're not still pissed about Friday arvo are you? Because you said you didn't even go." He paused. "You did go and wait for me didn't you?"

I grunted.

"Hey, I'm sorry; I thought you would have your phone. I never knew you lost it."

"Look," I said, stopping. "I really don't care. It's in the past."

"Great, so I'm forgiven?" he asked hopefully. Damn he was sexy when he smiled like that.

"Yeah, whatever." We walked past a few other kids, who looked at me and Luke with strange expressions. Not this again…

"Why are people looking at us weirdly?" I asked him. Maybe something happened last weekend that I wasn't aware of because I didn't have a phone. Maybe something ridiculous like Richard cheating on Megs with me?

"No fucking clue, but it's really creepy…"

"SELENA ROSE WILSON" I winced at my full name. I turned to look at Megan running across the hall.

"You have to look at this." She shoved her phone in my face. It took me a moment to adjust to the blinding light of her mobile, but what I saw was disgusting.

It was a photo of me and Luke kissing in the kitchen. The one Mitch used to blackmail me. Yeah, I was in deep shit.

"Lena? Are you ok?" I stared at the tiny screen. "Say something!"

"Ihow did you get that?"

"Whoever has your phone sent it to everyone."

Oh shit. Luke came up and frowned. "Is this why people have been giving us those looks today?"

"I guess…" I replied. This was bad…now everyone at school would think we were going out again, which we're not. But I guess now Mitch has nothing against me anymore – everyone already saw it.

"Well at least it's not a nude photo of you or anything…" Luke started. "You don't have any nude photos do you?"

I slapped him. Embarrassed, I marched off to the girl's bathroom, where he couldn't get into. What I hadn't counted on was how people would come to me about what happened between me and Luke. I wasn't ready to deal with that, not yet anyway.

"Get out of my way bitches!" Thank god for Skye. She pushed through the gossip-hungry girls and grabbed me, dragging me to the bathroom and death glaring anyone who looked our way.

Once we were in the bathroom, she checked the stalls and waited until that one girl left. Poor thing, Skye was glaring at her so hard, she could've burnt a hole through her brain.

"Ok," she started once the random left. "What happened? Why'd you send that picture out to everyone?"

"It wasn't me, you know that!" she gave me her i-don't-believe-you face with the eyebrow raise. I sighed. "I lost my phone yesterday, so I have no idea what had happened until Megs told me."

"Hold on." She flipped out her hot pink phone and put it against her ear. "Yeah, she's with me," she paused and seemed to think. "B-block bathrooms. Yeah, ok, see ya." She turned to me. "Megs is coming."

"Skye, we'll miss class."

She gave me a look that said she didn't care. "Just say you were sick and we were helping you or something. It's not like they mark the roll every lesson or anything."

The door to the bathroom swung open and Megs strolled in. "She really did lose her phone you know," she told Skye.

"Ok, I guess that makes it slightly better. But what were you doing kissing him?"

"I thought I told you about the kiss…"

"That you did, but where did the photo come from?"

"My cousin Mitch snapped it…he must've sent it to my phone and whoever had it decided to use it." I guessed.

Both Megan and Skype gave me strange looks, until Skye broke the silence. "Is that the super annoying ass-wipe cousin?"

"Duhh. Who else would do something like that?" Megan said for me. Thank you, Megan.

"Ok fine." Skype brushed her away. "Are you alright? Like, all this drama and everything. It's never been this bad before..."

"Yeah," I said quietly. "I can handle it."

"Ok then. Act sick, we're taking you to the nurse to make our excuse legit," Skye said, motioning for Megs to stand on my other side.

"Wait, is she injured or sick?" Megs asked. Skye and Megan battled it out, trying to figure out the full story of why I had to go to sick bay. I didn't care – they would fill me in on the final story.

And then I realised something - the fucker used my credit.

So…it's been like, a year. BUT I'M BACK. Hopefully for longer too…but that depends on what life decides to chuck at my face.
