Jay P.O.V.

BEEP...! BEEP...! BEEP!

What the hell is that? Oh right, the alarm... "Ugh... Stupid alarm!", I muttered, bitterly. I reached my bedside table and turned the alarm off, stopping the annoying beeping. I snuggled deeper into the covers until my brother, Ryan, burst into my room.

"Jay, get up now!", he ripped the covers off me. I felt the cold air hit me. I heard his retreating steps before he yelled, again.

"You better get up!"

"Ugh... Stupid brother and stupid school!" If you haven't noticed by now, I'm so not a morning person.

"I'm leaving in 10 minutes so get your ass up, Jay!" Ry shouted from downstairs.

I call my brother Ry not Ryan guess when I was little I was too lazy to pronounce his whole name. Wait, did he say 10 minutes? Oh shit!

I bolted out of bed to the restroom.

"Damn you, Ry!" I grumbled, going downstairs.

"So you sleep well?" Ry asked. Asshole! I frowned.

"What do you think?" He smirked.

"Nope?"

"No." Cue for awkwardness. Me and Ryan used to be really close but then he joined the Chokers, the gang that do the Jokers' dirty work. Now I barely saw him.

"Where's Alex?" I asked. Alex was our six-year-old brother.

"It's his first day of school, 'member?" Ry said, taking out a Pop-Tart from the toaster.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot!" All I got from him was a grunt. Well there goes that conversation.

"You gonna skip today?" I asked, curious.

"Yup, got some business going on." He was a senior in high school.

"Care to elaborate?" He ignored the question.

I wasn't surprised by the answer, he never talked about 'gang business'.

"Alright, let's go!" He said, changing the subject. We headed outside to our car. He never lets me drive it which was annoying when you have to walk or ride the bus to and from school.

The drive to school was, like always, boring and awkward. I was glad when we got to school.

"Thanks for the ride, Ry." I said. He smiled and nodded. I went inside where I ran into Kevin, a Chokers' gang member.

"Hey Buff Man." I joked. That got a smile out of Kev. We started walking.

"Hey... You heard what happened?" He said, the smile fading. This was something serious.

"Um... Nope. What happened?" I asked worriedly. We had stopped walking by now. He looked around and...

Here we go again

I kinda wanna be more than friends

So take it easy on me

I'm afraid you're never satisfied.

Here we go again

We're sick like animals

We play pretend

You're just a cannibal

Animals by Neon Trees started playing. Weird... I have the same ring-tone. Kevin looked at me expectantly. I raised my eyebrow.

"What?" I asked, puzzled.

"Aren't you gonna answer that?" He nodded towards my cellphone in my bag. I rolled my eyes and took my cellphone out.

"Hey Ry." I knew who it was because every person had a different ring-tone when they called.

"Listen," Geez no hi or hello. Rude much?,"Keep Alex away from the house," then as an after thought he said, "And you too, okay?"

"Okay? But why?" I asked.

"We got some problems, okay? Just stay away Jay!" He said hurriedly.

"But-" He hung up. I looked at the phone's screen and it said call ended.

"Damn it." I muttered under my breath.

"What?" Asked Kevin. I almost forgot he was there.

"Um... Nothing. What were you gonna tell me?"

RIIIINNNGGGG! The warning bell. I groaned. Dammit I'm late!

"Oh yeah-" Once again he got interrupted but this time it was by the principal saying,"Mr. Johnson and Ms. Winters get to class please."

"I'll see you later, Kev." I said while walking away.

You like? No? Yes?

For any one who cares I'll update A.S.A.P.

Oh, yeah! UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T OWN THE SONG! Neon Trees does! I don't own Pop-Tarts either!
