*~TAKING RISKS~*

...

Look at me I'm throwing myself in front of you

Understand that I'm only trying to protect you

Regret is the last thing on my mind

It's the horrible mistake I expect I'll make

You're a coward afraid to show your tail

You're too carefree, with the circumstances I'll never dare

You keep hurting me you cold jerk

Is being reasonable a crime?

You darling are a mime

Wait, please, just don't waver

You've only got one lifetime to wager

What can I do?

Say it's true

But my tongue keeps failing me too

Follow me before I'm lost

I'm too afraid, there's too much it would cost

Didn't you say I chose you

I'll never ask for anyone but you.

Note: Inspired loosely by the All American Rejects song "Another Heart Calls"

Basically the poem is based on two people who secretly love each other and yeah, guessing waiting for the first one to confess isn't prolonging matters. One-the italicized-is taking on the offensive making obvious intentions while the other one-bold font-is taking things slow, trying to wait for the right moment. It's an eternal wait and it's freaking pathetic *heh*. Like a certain person once said "If you had one shot, one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, one moment, would you capture it, or just let it slip?"
