"C'mon chickadee," came Chanelle's voice from downstairs, "we're going to be late."

How can you be late for a party? I didn't voice my thoughts.

After all what did I know about parties? Zilch that's what.

I put the final touches on my make-up and looked myself over in the mirror. I looked…good enough. I guess. But I was nowhere near the bombshell that my older sister Alice was. Nevertheless, Alice was sick and wouldn't be at the party and so for once I didn't have to worry about looking pale in comparison to her. I soon cringed as I realized how vain and pathetic I sounded.

I sighed and tried to shrug it off as I slipped on my ballet flats and headed towards the stairs. However, I stopped as I heard Alice calling out to me and padded over to her room instead.

"Camille," she whispered, her voice husky from all the coughing. I kneeled down beside her so I could hear her better.

"Are you sure you'll be fine Ally?" She nodded weakly. I bit my lip. Alice was lying and I didn't like that. Her skin was a sickly pallor and her face taut. I hoped she got better soon. However, she did have a knack for recovering quickly. Maybe it was an athletic thing?

"Just do me a favor Cam." I nodded fervently and wanted to whisper 'anything', but that would have sounded too much like a soap opera.

"I know that you don't exactly like Jace," she started slowly, "but will you just watch him and make sure he doesn't do anything dumb."

Oh, this was just about her boyfriend. I guess since it was his party I was going to she thought I'd make a good little spy. Well, there was going to be alcohol and who knew what would happen. I understood her concern. I just wished she would stop talking about him all the time. What can I say? I was jealous that Jace had stolen my sister from me and they hadn't even been going out for that long.

"Yeah of course," I said as I hesitantly kissed her on the cheek goodbye. I didn't exactly want to get sick too. "Mom should be here soon."

She gave me an incredulous expression before it turned bleak. I understood the look. We both knew that mom didn't come home before dawn. That's what working in the E.R will do. I didn't want to leave her, but she said she was fine and Chanelle had been begging me to go to this party with her, well, since forever.

I hugged her once more before I left.

It took about twenty minutes to reach the party and many cars littered the road near the house- sorry mansion. Everyone knew that Jacen Kraft had more money than most countries put together. His house reflected his status and wealth very well. It was only because of my connection to Alice that I was even invited to the parties that Jace was infamous for throwing. It was so shallow and pathetic just like Jace and his cronies.

As soon as we entered the jammed pack house, Chanelle left me to go find her beau since freshman year, Stephonne. It had become frustrating seeing them together because it just reminded me of what I didn't have. And here, I was not only the single loser but also the alien in unknown territory. My only ally had vanished for something better to consume her time.

I didn't blame her, but still, we had barely been there five minutes.

I headed for the kitchen to get some form of alcohol to calm my nerves. I hated parties. If Chanelle hadn't convinced me to go, I'd be at home with my sketchpad. But of course she ditched me as soon as her boyfriend came around. However, I knew I wouldn't stay mad at her for long. She was in 'love' and who was I to ruin it just because I missed my best friend. I sighed as I grabbed a can of beer and opened it while relishing in the fizzing sound it made.

"Hey Camille," a familiar, smooth voice said. I turned around while slowly sipping the awful tasting substance. My palms started to sweat as I stared into Jace's grey eyes. My heart began to beat rapidly and I hoped he couldn't hear it.

Yup, that's right. I secretly had a crush on my sister's boyfriend. I wish I could just kick myself for allowing that to happen. But honestly, I didn't see it coming.

"Hi Jace," I said as I lowered my drink. "Fun party," I mocked.

He chuckled lightly. "Drink a few more of those and you'll mean it."

I grimaced. "Doubt it."

He shook his head. "Anyway is Alice okay?" he asked, not taking his gaze of me, "I tried calling but I got no answer." I shifted nervously; his cool grey eyes always unnerved me. I wondered if he knew about my inane crush. I looked away.

"Yeah, I think she just has a cold. Nothing too serious," I told him quietly as my eyes continued tracing the pattern on the marble floor. He always asked about Alice whenever he spoke to me. The stupid crush wasn't happy with that. It made me wish that he would ask me how I felt or about anything else that didn't include her name.

I had to stop these thoughts. They were horrible to Alice, but it wasn't like I was going to do anything. I couldn't control cupid's dumb arrow, and it seemed he had really bad aim or he just really wanted to see me suffer.

"Oh, okay. Well enjoy the rest of the party," he winked before walking away and I suddenly had to remind myself how to breathe. Okay, this was getting ridiculous. These stupid hormones were going to be the death of me. Now I really just wanted to leave. However, Chanelle was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, she was my ride and so I was stuck until she remembered to take me home. Great.

As I made my way back to the kitchen, passing by sweaty bodies pressed up against each other, I decided to take Jace's advice and enjoy the party. After drowning shot after shot of something questionable, the room started to blur.

I remembered vaguely dancing and kissing some random guys. I remembered through my drunken haze pulling someone who looked slightly like Jace on to the dance floor. I remembered the random stranger's lips brushing against my neck and me turning around in his embrace to return it.

I remembered, I remembered…nothing more.

I awoke to feeling a hard chest behind me. I was still recovering from the alcohol and barely glanced around the room through half-opened eyes.

There were clothes strewn here and there.

My bra haphazardly hung from the lamp…

My head snapped around so fast that for a second all I saw was a blur. I grabbed my head and moaned. Finally, as everything cleared, an involuntary gasp escaped my lips. The face I saw made my heart drop. I moved his arms gently as to not wake him and slowly slid off the bed as tears gathered in the corner of my eyes.

Oh god no…

I looked on the bed and there was the evidence. The crumpled, once pristine, white sheets had a dry, dark red stain: evidence of my virginity. Evidence, that I was no longer a virgin.

Evidence that I had just slept with my sister's boyfriend.

A/N:

I couldn't resist. This is what would have happened in a high school setting. And no I have not given up on the original version and yes it is still on hiatus. However, this idea was bugging me and I had to write it.

Should I continue it?
