It was but a memory, a dream
She only felt her heart scarred at the seam
She was found but didn't understand
Not acknowledging the anonymous plea and demand
Wanting her to come back from the torturous place
That was distorting that once beautiful face
He waited and waited, wanting to be heard
But he was only heard by the soundless black bird
That circled and circled but never did land
Because he fed on pain and people that never lent a hand,
Were uncaring, mean, greedy and rude
To those who wanted to be rescued
From the fire slowly smoldering inside
Which caused the ultimate suicide.
