Winter

The sharp smell of crushed nettles wafts through the air;

Vibrant greens contrast against delicate whites.

Peppermint canes dissolve

Before the warmth of a crackling fire,

And the joyful laughter of children.

The heady smell of cooking cookies,

Sweet chocolate chip cookies.

Gentle, loving hugs from family and friends.

Sleigh bells ring out into the night,

Soft sparkling snowflakes and bright blinking lights,

What a beautiful time of year.
