Where this little story comes from

A picture of what looks like a blue lightbulb but instead its a broken glass face.

The artist calls it Broken Mind.

The child watched her father smash light bulbs across the pavement. He sprinkled the ground with stained glass, crushed finely as if he were a chef. He flavored his soup with gasoline and torched his masterpiece.

"Come hether dear Tulip" The child watched with wide eyes. Where was her mother?

"Tulip I said come here. Dear sweet flower come see the pretty colors." The preschooler walked over to the man with mad eyes that's her father. So young and she already knew her father's moods could affect her every being. Just like her name, bruises blossomed among her fair skin. Tulip walked over to the blazing glass, burning into the concrete sea.

Oh the glass, how it reflected into his eyes. Tulip cringed against the glare they set. His eyes were so lifeless, like all intelligence had been driven out by this crazy sheer cast over his eyes like a haze. A poisonous haze that set fray against his mind. The doctors said he just couldn't stand the fact her mother had died in that church fire. At first he just burned bibles, saying the words inside were lies.

Then their money ran low. They couldn't provide to buy a poor man's salvation. So he just pulled feathers out of pillows and stuffing out of the couch.

He never did give an answer to why he pulled that out and burned it. He even pulled out the stuffing of Tulip's toys.

Years later Tulip may have found out after some ponder he wanted to burn out everything's insides since his hell driven madness had burned out his insides.

Alas some people don't have that luxury.

Now her insane father melted glass, beautiful colors burned into the sidewalk.

"Look Tulip, all the stories the pretty colors tell."

"Father what stories? Its just glass."

"Why you know in all the great churchs, they have great window panes with stained glass for those too unfortunate to read the stories."

"But this is a sidewalk..."

"Tulip, now don't disgrace me child!"

Tulip's eyes widened. He was getting angry. Oh mother, she prayed. Let me live this episode.

"Of course Father. I see the great church now."

He father turned her back on Tulip, who immediately stepped back several baby steps.

"Why do you lie to me, sweet flower?"

He turned, demon eyes flashing her death.
