On the cliff, leaning into the wind,
Hair whipping in the breeze,
The girl tries to call across the water,
To the forest of green trees.

Tears of despair stream down her face,
She urges herself to fall,
No one hears hear pain-filled sobs,
No one hears her call.

She plunges from the precipice,
To the jagged rocks below,
No one there to catch her,
No one there to know.

As she falls, through her head,
Runs thoughts of long-gone days.
When no one left her all alone,
When no one ran away.

And as she falls, comes from her mouth,
A final, high-pitched scream,
That tells of all that brought her here,
Her nightmare of a dream.
