If I could have chosen
Where the gods would have hidden their heaven,
I would wish it be in the salt and swell of the ocean.
Carried by the currents to all countries' shores,
Reaching into the depths where the sun's light has never shown.
With hidden treasures so magnificent the world has never known.
Mixed with algae and coral,
Breathed in by all creatures of the deep.
Shared by Man above and subjects below where they find their sleep.
With innocent curiosity touching the land,
Lovers' written messages erased from the sand.
Swiftly receding like a child returning to his home.
To live in the gods' kingdom is more than I deserve.
There is an Ocean in my soul where the waters do not curve.
