Being alone

Is what most people desire

The isolation of one's self

Brings happiness like fire

Quick and intense

The air seems to decrease

And the silence screams

And on life there's a new lease

It quiets you, calms you

It swirls and lets you in

And finally you're happy

It seems to have no end

You lay on your bed

And you listen to the quiet

Not unlike the peace

After a large riot

You can't help but sleep

In the wonderful calm

That soothes your body

Like a muscle balm

But when it is over

When it is through

You want to be surrounded

By the people who love you
