Hey again. Sorry this one took a little longer to post. Once again, please, please, PLEASE R&R. I've only had 2 reviews so far (by the way, thank you so much ValTheMirror. I will forever appreciate you for your comments). So again, please review. I will love you forever if you do!

Kayla struggled to pay attention, but her eyelids were dropping from exhaustion. Last night had been amazing, but she was paying for it now. She glanced across the room at Noah, and was pleased to see that he looked just as tired as her. He noticed her looking at him and grinned slightly, faking a yawn. She smiled before turning away.

Finally, the bell rang. Kayla sighed in relief. All she wanted to do was go home and take a nice, long nap.

Suddenly she felt hands at her waist. Noah spun her around and kissed her gently. All of a sudden, Kayla didn't feel so tired anymore. She pressed herself against Noah, inhaling the sweet, musky smell of his cologne.

From behind them, Kayla heard someone clear their throat. Reluctantly, she pulled away from Noah's embrace. She turned to see Mrs. Jackson, their principal, tapping her foot impatiently.

"Why don't you two head to class?" she said coldly.

Kayla gathered her books, which had fallen to the ground, and walked quickly down the hall. Noah caught up to her, and as soon as they had turned the corner, they burst out laughing.

"Did you see her face?" Noah asked.

"Oh. My. God. That was priceless," Kayla said as she tried to catch her breath.

After a few minutes, Noah sighed. "I better head to class."

"Me too," Kayla agreed. She kissed him lightly before heading sadly to Law, down the hall on the right.

Just one more monthe until Christmas break, she reminded herself. In a month, she and Noah would be in the Caribbean. Of course, her parents would be there too, but they would be too busy socialising to notice when Kayla and Noah slipped away for a few minutes. Or hours. Kayla imagined herself, on a big, white bed, wearing nothing but the satin white sheets. Noah would be laying beside her, with her head on his nice, tanned chest...

"Kayla? Why are you late?" Mr. Reynolds, her teacher asked, interrupting Kayla's imaginary vacation.

As she rattled off an excuse to him, Kayla caught her friend Jess' eye and grinned. Jess grinned back mischievously and gestured inappropriately under the desk at her. Kayla bit her lip to keep from laughing. As much as she loved Noah, she loved her friends too, especially Jess, whom she had known since first grade. She realized she hadn't really hung out with anyone other than Noah in a while, and she decided to slip Jess a note later, inviting her over for a sleepover.

The rest of the class passed by quickly, with many notes passed between Kayla and Jess. Kayla realized that she felt happier than she had ever felt before. She had always been kind of happy go lucky, but this was different. Now she felt as though she were on top of the world.

But a part of her was wary of this happiness. It seemed like her life was so perfect right now, something just had to go wrong sooner or later.

You're just being paranoid, Kayla told herself, pushing the thought to the back of her mind. Just because you're happy, that doesn't mean something has to go wrong. You're allowed to be happy, just like everyone else. With that, Kayla gave her worries one final push to the back of her mind, where they would stay for some time.

In the next few weeks, Kayla would come back to this moment many times. If only I had known, she would think sadly. Because, as it turned out, things were indeed too perfect, at least to Fate, and it was only a matter of time before something went wrong. That 'matter of time' turned out to be exactly three weeks, and it all started with five words.
