Hospital Blues
by Sierra Sellers

Direct admittance for my sore
Yeah, I've been here before
Watching all the nurses in their scrubs
My pain ain't goin' anywhere
And have the time to lose
I'll just sit here in my wheelchair
Singing about the hospital blues

Morphine for my pain
Zofran for my nausea
Get checked out today
I'll be highly medicated soon
Laying in my adjustable bed
Just singing my hospital blues

CT Scan is at quarter after eight
But of course the staff is running late
Having to drink vile chalk solution
Dragging the IV machine around
Annoyed by the constant beeping sound
Struggling to find the call bell
While I sing my hospital blues

Morphine for my pain
Zofran for my nausea
Get checked out today
I'll be highly medicated soon
Laying in my adjustable bed
Just singing my hospital blues

Finally I can get some rest
But they run a vitals test
Blow my IV without even an apology
Pierce another vein and fail
If only my nurse wasn't a male
Can't wait for the sun to come up
Till then I'll sing my hospital blues

Morphine for my pain
Zofran for my nausea
Get checked out today
I'll be highly medicated soon
Laying in my adjustable bed
Just singing my hospital blues

Yeah singing the hospital blues
Getting discharged in the afternoon
But I'll prolly be back soon
Singing my hospital blues…
